What are some methods?

What are some methods to meditate on unvirtuous tendencies within oneself in order to recognize the ultimate essenceless nature of them (unvirtuous tendencies)? Would Vipassana or Insight meditation be an effective method? I've done some in the past, but I never specifically focused on unvirtuous te...

Re: Amulets and protection diagrams

I like the "Wheel of the Meritorius Elephant Generating Power" that's featured on this page: https://shop.fpmt.org/Digital-Cards-Posters-_c_712.html

Also good is the "purifying the cause of samsara" door mantra further down the page.

Re: Is everything that we experience karma?

Tulku Thondup says in one of his books that we can do meditations and prayers for others that have the potential to have a genuine effect on their spiritual trajectory; through our interdependent relationship with them. I think he said something like how much of an effect depends on how close we are...

Re: Differences in experiences of the afterlife/NDE

Like you, nothing I can say can be taken as any kind of guide; it's just an amalgamation of the teachings I've received and my own beliefs based on what I've read.

Re: Differences in experiences of the afterlife/NDE

I don't have that much experience in this topic, other than what I've read and heard about from intuitives who send people through hypnosis into past lives. I wish I knew more, but I'm woefully unprepared to talk about this subject in depth. My intuitive feeling and partly based on what I've learned...

Re: Differences in experiences of the afterlife/NDE

good topic. I have read quite a few different stories of NDEs. I think it all depends on people's karma. People with much good karma have pleasant experiences, but not everyone does. I also have heard many people say that you choose to reincarnate; that may be true to a certain extent, but I doubt i...

Mani pills

Potalagate.com offers mani pills blessed by HH Dalai Lama for quite a low price (I paid $3 for 15 pills). I'm just passing this on for anyone that is looking for mani pills for a good price: https://potalagate.com/products/1360967902?gclid=CjwKCAiAq8f-BRBtEiwAGr3DgTKL-22v49avQSeUr-VlG4_kdO44I7yKKKUX...

Re: Inspiring biographies

I just bought the second volume of Garchen Rinpoche's biography that chronicles his life from 1958-1980, basically all the years he was in prison. His center makes prayers that anyone who makes a connection through reading the biography may swiftly attain awakening and enlightenment. https://www.ama...

Thanks for the beautiful videos; I especially enjoyed the last video where his student was talking about being at the beach and having Rinpoche say to her "let's write poetry."

Gomde California, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche's center, offers a prayer service that is free of charge. They offer prayers for the sick. It's a really good center. https://gomdeca.org/prayer-requests-offerings/

Re: Plum village mindfulness

I attended one Plum Village online retreat over the summer. It was a really great experience. From my POV, I would summarize their main practice as 1) Mindful breathing (they emphasize practice over theory). 2) Looking deeply 3) The 4 Mantras. 4) Selective watering 1) The main practice was mindful b...

I liked this Taoist quote

I just read a Taoist quote attributed to Lao Tzu that was on the facebook page of a friend. It said something like: "don't spend too much time worshipping many deities or idols. Take time to rest your mind in its true nature: serenity."

Re: It's very hard living with demon attacks.

I was thinking about this, as spirit harm has been one of the most difficult experiences of my life. One way to find greater protection is to form a close relationship with a deity like Tara. Things like making offerings, prostrating, expressing devotion can form an important bond. If your devotion ...

Garchen Rinpoche phowa recording

Here is an updated link to Garchen Rinpoche's phowa audio recording. He recommends to play it after the deceased's last breath.
It is said to be as effective or nearly as effective as an actual phowa: https://garchen.net/wp-content/uploads/ ... -alone.mp3

Re: It's very hard living with demon attacks.

I have dealt with this firsthand. I looked around everywhere trying to find help. I could give you an exhaustive list of what I tried, but it would be wiser for me to just tell you the name of the clairvoyant healer who was able to actually clear the negative spirits from me. The guy is amazing. He ...

Re: Helping animals in Vajrayana

Thank you for sharing this information; it is very helpful. I have been reading "The Right View" by Khenpo Tsultrim Lodro and he also shares information about liberating live beings. He says the important thing is that the animals hear the recitations of the mantra or Buddhas' names in their own min...

Re: Field

Here is a definition of the Wei Qi field: By Jane Barthelemy. Wei Qi is an invisible energy, an electro magnetic field referred to in Chinese medicine. Wei Qi is critically important especially in current times, as we are bombarded by energies and electro-magnetic radiation all around us. They come ...
