Re: How respond to extreme passion/grasping in another perso

I really like this question. It is my observation that even rather balanced and otherwise more or less mature people can at some point in their life head over heel "fall" for a particular other person. Speaking from a psychoanalytical perspective, this is often the case due to not yet resolved anim...

Re: How respond to extreme passion/grasping in another perso

Hello, I am reading a passage written by Chogyam Trungpa in his book, "Mandala of Unconditioned Energy". He is discussing the extreme of the neurosis of passion/grasping. This is a very good and intriguing explanation in my opinion. I recognize my own behavior in this description. I have someone I ...

Re: Do you believe that love is "samsaric"?

I discovered yesterday that some Buddhists make distinctions between what they believe is "samsaric," and what they believe is something else, something not samsaric. Some believe that love, of all things, is samsaric. I don't understand how it makes any sense at all to make such distinctions. If a...

Re: European refugee crisis

This is planned attack on europe, this is what is called Hijra in Islam. I'm glad that hungary takes rational step to this - the stake is too high, if you see arabic world, muslims patrols in uk, in germany what happening, they are not respectful in group, there are nice to have things later on the...

Well, to me, Christianity on contrary helped me to pray better. I think in Christianity it is the prayer that is the most powerful since there isn't really meditative practice.

I think term Mahdi is Islamic and honistly with all due respect to multiculturalism, I don't see Islamic prophecies as fulfilling but the Buddhist and Christian, especislly Christian. Literary fullfiling as word by word and a bit in symbolism. Also to my regret some isliamic prophecy interpretations...

Re: Clearing up the Pure Land sutras

If you become too concerned on what the future gender of your spiritual self will be, then you're not necessarily attaining liberation from suffering. It's best not to even think of "you" and focus only on Amitabha, trust Amitabha, have faith in the sutras, they're full of unspoken meaning that we ...

Re: Clearing up the Pure Land sutras

Oh, common?? We have feminism for rejoicing womenhood not selfhatred for renouncing life as a woman. This is so sexist nowadays its even painful to read. Such humiliation. I don't think being a woman is less spiritual, sorry, not now, not before. maybe is occupied (forcely) mainly by men, as spirit...

Re: Last judgement

What is there to be judged? What is there to do the judging? Every moment, in this moment, the causes and conditions of this very moment are arising. Future phenomena arise only as a result of the causes and conditions in those moments, past phenomena arose as a result of those causes and condition...

Re: Last judgement

In Buddhism, to be independent is to be free. To be subjected to dependencies is to be in bondage What is independent? Does it matter if one believes in a creator God or not? So there's no God, there is no predestination, etc. You are totally on your own. As is each of us. Does that make you free? ...

I really searched for a delightful image of Guan Yin for my signature. Indeed I pray to Avalokitesvara a lot. I have a deep fondness for Guan Yin even though she's not part of my practice. I think I feel the most for her of any deity. I read Bloefeld's "Bodhisattva of Compassion" and it flavored my...

Re: Luck and Karma

I view luck as winning in a situation of chance, and karma more of a reaping what you sow. This life reaps according to the karma I sowed in a past life, and sowing now what I would prefer to reap in a next life. Ultimately, however, the goal is to eliminate all good and bad karma to liberate yours...

Re: Luck and Karma

Isn't good karma the same as luck often? Or how do you define luck vs karma? As far as I understood the accumulation of merits is for the purpose of having enough luck and less hindrances, in order to be able to follow the Dharma. If I am in misfortune and have no food, no shelter, no medicine, no ...

If, when I attain Buddhahood, humans and devas in my land should not all be of one appearance, and should there be any difference in beauty, may I not attain perfect Enlightenment. Re: Clearing up the Pure Land sutras

What I want to say is that such sayings as "a woman should rebirth as a man" not only reduces dignity and importance of women's practice but removes the sense of one's life day by day. I wish women to be fighting for the right to have their spiritual practices respected for their worth and their lif...

Re: Clearing up the Pure Land sutras

Yeah, about the women who need to be reborn as men in the Pure Land. It is still believed in Taoism and Buddhism that a woman be more spiritual should imidiately reborn as a man. For example, the prophecied student of Maitreya, a woman is considering to be killed and reborn as a man immediately so t...
