Re: Namgyalma / Usnisa Vijaya info thread

hmm. its interesting that Namgyalmas history and lineage in tibetan buddhism is not so available in comparison to many other deities and tantras. For some reason i am very attracted and interested in Namgyalma and the lineages, history etc. but the only thing i can find is Shakyamuni Buddhas sutra w...

Re: Using Astral Projection for Dharma Practice

well to come up with the question: with what one does astral projection. or any type of projection. with the mind. Astral projection is done with the mind. at least from what i know it is a function of the mind. Others believe differently. and what do you believe or what do you think that others be...

Re: Using Astral Projection for Dharma Practice

i think yes. Amitabha and his pure land is in our hearts. if you have a pure heart you definitely see it in dream or when astral projecting. its in the mind after all. however whatever you see, it is good to practice the recognition of appearance as illusory and penetrate to the empty essence of app...

do you need the lung for the text that is translated and could you possibly be able to find it for me?

I received the Namgyalma empowerment from HH Chetsang Rinpoche last summer in Ladakh on Snake year Teachings.

Re: Minimum prerequisites for physical karmamudra practice?

i think Garchen Rinpoche has said many times that the highest ultimate samaya is Love or Bodhicitta. when you say wrong people you too might be breaking samaya since i see only judgement in your words, not understanding, love or compassion. which has to basically develop even before you are actually...

Re: Minimum prerequisites for physical karmamudra practice?

Does anyone have a quote at hand that says when listening to the teachings don't just read the words but understand the meaning or something like that. i have heard it from many masters but can't find one right now. i think it would be good quote to this conversation.

Re: Minimum prerequisites for physical karmamudra practice?

conradtree, you read the words but do not see the meaning. in buddhism there are three levels of meaning, outer, inner and secret. it is said also in many texts that when you listen do not just pay heed to empty words but understand their meaning. you obviously fail to do that when you cling to an a...

Re: Do you have to have a highest yoga before taking VY?

mmm, thats interesting conebeckham since the 11 yogas come from Naropa, almost the source of Kagyu lineages. anyway i don't know if they are practiced in the kagyu, i would think so, anyway my drikung sangha member mentioned that there are eleven yogas in VY practice and if I'm not wrong he practice...

Re: Do you have to have a highest yoga before taking VY?

Garchen Rinpoche also gave Vajrayogini last autumn through webcast empowerment but he didnt transmit the mantra so i don't think it was the full empowerment. anyway, even if u received it like that from Garchen you are allowed to buy even the long restricted sadhana of VY. the short sadhana is not r...

Re: Do you have to have a highest yoga before taking VY?

I received Vajrayogini last january. it was my first highest yoga tantra empowerment. It was ok to receive it but my Lama did not allow me to start practicing it, instead he assigned me to do ngondro. chanting the mantra is allowed though but not kyerim. the empowerment i received through the Drikun...

Dalai Lama government and pre historic tibet

I wonder about this. Dalai Lama is the incarnation of Avalokitesvara. yet the great compassionate lord ruled over his people like any taken example of our current world ruling elite. in pre historic tibet people suffered from extreme poverty and bad living conditions, people were illiterate if not m...

Re: extibetanbuddhist dot com

'Ex Tibetan Buddhist' is vicious anti-religious polemics. I do feel for anybody who has been exploited and enslaved by cult religions, but I don't think that Tibetan Buddhism generally falls into that category. It is simply not a 'mind-control' cult in the way the Unification Church or Scientology ...
