Re: Life
I thank everyone for their support & suggestions. Im really glad you wrote this. I can't diagnose you, but it's possible you might be developing schizophrenia, or another another disorder of the brain/nervous system. If that is the case, no matter how hard you try, you will not be able to solve it y...

Re: Life
Your experience is not unusual, although it may feel like it is. And no one is going to confine you unless you are violent or suicidal. No doctor can change your worldview, but they can help with the symptoms. I know many people who suffered from anxiety, and once on proper medication, describe the...

Re: Life
Thanks everyone for the feedback, I appreciate it. There's no risk of me having an episode though, I am very good at hiding what goes on inside my head. I know what is normal, and I simply do not let the world see anything but that, normally.. and on days I can't manage that I do not go around peopl...

I have been having issues for a long time now, and honestly I don't know why I am posting this here except for the fact I have shared this with no-one else. In some ways I am at my wits ends, and something has to change I'm really just not sure what. I am extraordinarily hesitant to post this becaus...

You follow the path and you become an omniscient buddha. cough. You believe in Jesus and you're saved from a god who got upset at his creation for disobeying him about an apple tree.

Re: How do mind-streams interact?
When we talk about me, you and apple, that is the imagined reality. There is no understanding of consciousness-only here. If it is understood in terms of consciousness-only, the ideas of an external apple and you, and an internal me, they are all just ideas and not distinct entities. So, if you don...

Re: Fainted during meditation
I'm not sure why you fainted, but focusing on your heart / heart beat while meditating can make you euphoric / blissful. All sorts of things can happen when meditating in general. I've never heard of fainting from meditating, so perhaps it is a medical thing. I'd see a doctor anyway.

The Truth
You know what I don't like? The truth. The truth hurts, it doesn't fit into neat little packages where everything is comfortable. To get at the truth you have to give up your security you have to let go of ideas, labels, and even truth You can ask the truth questions all day, and you'l never find an...

Re: Soto-zen, Dogen and reincarnation
Are you claiming that reflecting on the consequences of one's actions can only be harmful? No, I mean thinking for thinking's sake. Questions like; is there a purpose to life? etc. True, for lay people, this is all not important. They can feel content with sitting a little in silence. So not being ...

Re: Soto-zen, Dogen and reincarnation
If Soto Zen is concerned about daily living, how is it addressed with the single idea of acting without a goal? And if one has truly no purpose in life, why get out of bed at all? These are real questions of daily life, where causes and conditions matter. Actions have consequences, and behind all a...

I think most religions at least try to point to the same thing, a state of compassion & love that frees you from your own ego.
