Re: HH Karmapa coming to Stanford

The Da Nang site doesn't have any link to any tickets at all. And last night they didn't have the contacts at the bottom of the page ether. How did you find out it has been sold out? Kirt There was a whole separate tab area where you could purchase tickets the other day. It seems like the contact i...

Re: Riwo Sangchod - ingredients question

[*]What type of charcoal do you use and what type of charcoal do you avoid? I have never like the pure bamboo charcoals as they don't seem to stay lit easily. I have tried many and found the swift-lite charcoal out of England to be a great value and they sell a larger disc which lasts longer. I lig...

Re: What chöd does Lama Wangdu practice?

It looks likes Lama Wangdu Rinpoche's schedule in LA was only until Dec 15, but the contact info is Tenzin Tinley Lama for information at [email protected]. Hope it helps.

Re: when and where ? Chöd wang and lung

Lama Wangdu is the real deal isn't he.. Nothing left out, nothing added. The complete package. I knew Lama Wangdu when living around the corner from his Gompa in Nepal and had the great pleasure of being able to attend his Wang this past Thursday. Also a similarly excellent experience thanks to eve...

Re: Dalai Lama Quotation: No Crazy Wisdom Masters

It seems to me that the Dalai Lama may not be the best judge or ultimate authority on "crazy wisdom" as this is a tradition most often found in Nyingma or Kagyu. If you look back and take the account of Guru Rinpoche's manifesting in the form of Dorje Drollo at face value as well as the often errati...

still wondering why no one ever sent me a copy of this since I made a donation for it...anyway, NBD. Sounds like it is just one person volunteering between work and family life fulfilling orders. I think they are back logged, not an excuse just the reality. If I were geographically closer I would b...

Re: Kathok Teachings and Wangs coming in Nepal

This is taking place in Tinchuli, Boudha, Nepal at the Zhichen Bairo Ling Gonpa. From what I can tell it will be a festival similar to those in Bhutan started by Guru Rinpoche featuring religious ceremonies and masked dances. It appears many of the highest Kathok lamas will be there as well as many ...

Re: Riwo Sangchod - ingredients question

During sur, She made sure there were no visible flames but that there was a steady column of smoke. I was reading this... The fire shouldn’t have much smoke. If you make fire with firewood, then usually there’s smoke. If there’s a lot of smoke, then you don’t smell the food because the smoke overwh...

This is the nicest one I have seen from the US. If you know someone in Asia they could have a very nice one made cheaply.

Re: Question re; silver plates and mandala offerings

You could also get a solid silver or high quality plated one from Nepal relatively inexpensively. To me it has always been important to buy the best I could afford, after all you will probably only ever buy one and it is an offering.
