Re: Padmasambhava as the incarnation of Amitabha?

So does one need super human abilities to gain birth in Padmasambhava's Zangdok Palri? Very hard to find info on this, perhaps someone can shed some light? No, much more like Amitabha's Pure Land at least from the Nyingma perspective. This may not be universal even within Nyingma. Kirt Hi Kirt, Do ...

Re: Buddhist ethics and BDSM?

It's one thing to be tolerant to other people's actions, but another thing for disciples of the Buddha to condone behaviours that are harmful and clearly against the precepts! I know whenever any thread about sex pops up everyone's already made up their mind and is just here to hear words of approv...

Re: Buddhist ethics and BDSM?

Very strange to say the least but should be ok if both of the individuals agree to it :? One of the many "pleasures" if you can call it that that need to be let go of in the pursuit for Nirvana if you are serious about it.

Re: Killing Insects and Buddhism

All intentional killing results in negative karma. But the weight and effect is different, mostly by size. Insects and pest control "killing an animal is a far less serious offence (Pacittiya 62), on a par with insulting someone, idle chatter and having a non-regulation size sitting mat." This migh...

what is your moon sign?

here's mine. can't say i believe in this kind of stuff but it seems pretty accurate  Energetic, impulsive, sporty, straightforward, quick to act. Re: Seosan's Argument for Pure Land Practice

So... I just have to say his name 10 times and I'm good? Do I have to still be a good and mindful boy, too? Depends on which school of Buddhism you ask. Chinese/Taiwanese/Vietnamese buddhists will tell you to smarten up (be mindful, follow the precepts etc.) A Jodo Shinshu buddhist will tell you al...
