Re: A question on malas
Hello Everyone, I recite several different mantras and have set goals of 100,000 recitations per mantra for myself. My question is should I have a single mala, with counters, for each mantra or should I just stick with a single mala for all mantras and attach multiple counters? Thank you in advance...

Re: malas (again)
some questions... ivory: Gyatrul Rinpoche mentions that elephant ivory is best, however it is obviously not trustworthy as most of it is blood ivory or even if it "isn't" it most likely is. so what about fossilized stegodon ivory or mammoth ivory? that involves no killing and is related to elephant...

Re: Apsaras
I've been meaning to draw some apsaras, their fluid design is almost mermerizing. But I'm not quite sure what they are exacly. Are they just minor devas? Do they serve some purpose other than aesthetics? https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b5/India_semi-devine_attendant_Dancing_Celesti...

Buddhist Deities
How would anybody explain the “reality issue” of Buddhist Deities (as in the Tibetan system ) to somebody who tries to understand it? Some try to explain it, that Buddhist Deities are Jungian Archetypes. Others explain it as “quasi real aspects” as in they’re not real and at the same time real and “...

Re: Tantra vs Sutra Emptiness
hmm...when I get into meditation (Anapanasati) I sometimes get into a state where the "I" feels dissolved and part of a larger "void" so to speak. Don't know if that makes any sense or if the experience is supposed to be like that. With nada yoga I still wait for a similar experience, defini...

Re: Phowa with psychological disorder
Maybe get advice not only from a lama/monk but from a "Buddhist mental health specialist" (PhD Clinical level) as well. Here are some links about that topic: https://scholar.google.de/scholar?q=Buddhism+and+psychosis&hl=de&as_sdt=0&as_vis=1&oi=scholart&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi76fTktrbVAhWC1RQKHTsWAbcQgQMIK...

Re: Veganism is an Eating Disorder
Food for religious people food can really be a tough one. For the non religious, who have accepted moralism as a substitute religion, turning it into an ideology the same difficulty perseveres. I think it really should come down to how you want to be involved with life and not trying to impose the o...

Re: When the Dalai Lama Dies...
Well, maybe the Dalai Lama will take rebirth as a woman, outside of China's influence ;) Reminds me of that movie where that Chinese general says "...will and alyways be part of Ch..Chch..China!". ^^ Just joking. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/dalai-lama-china-woman_us_58e9e956e4b05413bfe38559 ...

Re: the psychedelic community: pros and cons
That reminds me of the story of the westerner going to India and giving LSD to a Yogic. After taking it, the Yogic said it's really good stuff, but Yoga get's you into even higher states (Yoga = meditation according to him) with the ability to stop the experience when you want it to stop - instantly...

What a strange thig happened to me. A couple of years ago I attended out of the blue the Garchen Rinpoche centre near my hometown. There was a ceremony where nuns were throwing themselves on the ground and, I think it was Garchen Rinpoche, who used a Vajra and a bell. I wanted to know if there's som...

Bodichitta
I sometimes try to meditate on Bodhichitta but more often on emptiness. Now I'm thinking to focus a bit more on the Bodichitta meditational aspect. I wanted to know what you practitioners think about this piece of information? Helpfull? http://www.amnyitrulchung.org/teachings/materials/pdf/WoMPT%20P...

New Guy
Hi, I'm new here, I'm interested in meditation, making of electronic music, crazyness, other dimensions, UFO's & contactees and tobacco plants. I like Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoy the technique over strength aspect, though I fail often to use it. I just wanted to say hello. Regards StrangeGuy
