Re: Favourite Sports

My "Other" option is rock climbing. A very interesting way to stay in the now. Amazingly I forgot to add climbing. Fantastic. How often do you climb? What kind of rock climbing (like up and down 10-20 feet or scaling a cliff face)? Thanks! I was a climbing instructor, I did sport climbing...

Re: Emptiness as "insignificance" and as "spatial vacuity"

I used insignificance just because the thread creator did. I will never relate insignificance with sunyata, as sunyata is a property of the whole universe, it's everywhere, it's very significant. And yes, there's some relation with insubstantiality I agree a lot with you. In fact is a form of insubs...

Re: Emptiness as "insignificance" and as "spatial vacuity"

> A. Emptiness as regards dependent origination is customarily intended to mean "insignificance of material and mental phenomena" rather than "spatial vacuity". Dependent origination tells us that there're no agents acting, just dependence orig. That's sunyata (a part of). > B. E...

Re: Dream Yoga struggles

The practice of Clear Light sleep actually doesn’t have to involve dreams at all, and my dream/sleep yoga teacher said that at the highest levels, it doesn’t. What I recall is that generally clear light sleep is seen as a more “advanced” practice, but that some people take to it better than dream p...

Re: Dream Yoga struggles

The capacity to clear light dreaming is independent from the capacity to see and steer and later remember your dreams. Think of what you want. Can you explain that ? The practice of Clear Light sleep actually doesn’t have to involve dreams at all, and my dream/sleep yoga teacher said that at the hi...

Re: Request for...practice support?

That's not a Vajrayana sub-forum... so... If you are interested in lucid dreaming, I suggest you to train with dream related practices, not plain mindfulness as you do. There're many techniques that can help you in that, they're quite useful, be them buddhist or not. In fact, for lucid dreaming the ...

Re: Differentiating Nature of Mind from Calm State

The nature of mind is the nature of your mind. It's quite easy, Be it with thoughts or without them. Sometimes people is confusing the nature itself with Realizing the nature of mind (as emptiness) which is trascendental wisdom and right knowledge. And being without thoughts is just being without th...
