please pray for me

I had bad experiences before but this is really awful, I really try to be good believer hut two people act again at me together, while the one reduces my light, the other lies to me trying to send me wrong imaginary images of myself, I think I know them both, I think the one even threaten me online ...

What about heavenly warriors in both Buddhism and Christianity, they are to defend the good and the dharma.

Re: Christian Guilt

At first I only read the original post and no further, because I immediately felt that what you suggested is the solution to this present situation. But I was as yet unaware that there was anyone else in DW like me, both Christian and Buddhist. This is a tremendous relief because I previously felt ...

Re: Christian Guilt

Hi, I'm Christian and Buddhist both, we do not have Buddhist temples around so I go to churches. Also I have something with daoism and shavaism too, but for me daoism is more like philosophy. Anyway, I don't see any contradiction, as I feel them as complementary. For me this is making your life much...

Re: Loving Kindness Meditation

Obviously some people really want to remove "love" from religion, including with changing quotations without seeking translators approval for it: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mett%C4%81&type=revision&diff=614908684&oldid=614571840 Love is a very important thing in...

Re: Loving Kindness Meditation

I think it is an emotion. Love comes from the heart, kindness too. I think the mind itself could be very cold or at least too conceptual to show these. They come from the heart chakra. I know it not because I'm emotional but because usually I'm not, I'm a more thoughtful person and there is a const...

Re: Loving Kindness Meditation

Loving kindness is the English translation of "metta". It is not an emotion, but a wish for people to be happy, free and safe. It is one of the "Divine Abodes" the Buddha said we need to cultivate to become enlightened. These abodes overcome negative mental states, such as greed...

Re: Obsessive Thoughts

Hi, Jesse. I read you and I know how you feel. I don't like doctors either and I don't trust them, I have pretty good reasons they do not care often about the patient but only wants to keep authoritative status on his/her back and use patients as power/wealth vehicle. Of course they help sometimes,...

Re: Depersonalisation disorder

Just another name for anhedonia and being emotionally withdrawn from life in the role of spectator. In fact a type of depression, a mild one. Its interesting how they like to give names to 'new' conditions to make clinical clichés and target fresh new groups that might need more medication and more ...

Re: Obsessive Thoughts

Just consult you doctor before doing things. SSRI Withdrawal Syndrome, neuropathy, the difficulties of the benzodiazepines, underlying conditions, etc. I know a lot of people want to try to do things holistically but there does need to be some common sense involved. I've yet to meet a doctor...

Vimalakirti is according to Wikipedia upasaka and is not worshiped like Avalokiteshvara but M.David says he is a bodhisattva who also was rich, gambling, etc. I don't think being a bodhisattva works that way.

When religion and philosophy of religion does not elaborate on suffering... Who does it? Psychiatry. Cultural Suffering book is an example of it. The author there says that media involvement and political concerns of poverty, war and political disturbances are nothing else... but a "moral senti...

Re: what?

The reason Islam has Jihad is that there are multiple verses in Koran about how important it is to kill Jews and Christians, and other non muslims said in very literal way. These verses can be found online and I wouldn't even bother to dirty my post with them. Thus the Koran says "kill non musli...

I see now why Jesus said that a rich man cannot go in heaven "Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdome of God" Matthew 19:24 It's not that rich people cannot be good Christians, it's just that he made sure they do...

May I be a guard for all those who are protector-less, A guide for those who journey on the road, For those who wish to go across the water, May I be a boat, a raft, a bridge. For all those ailing in the world, Until their every sickness has been healed, May I myself become for them The doctor, nur...

Re: Bad karma & bad mood

Dear Gloria, You need to be clear what you mean by poor. Do you mean those who have less than they need or do you mean those who have less than they want. Of the two, I've met more people who are unhappy because they have less than they want (I'm not saying they are the larger of the two groups, ju...

Gloria, "I've noticed that poor people often have stern faces, angrily expressions, and not think good" I simply can't agree as many 'poor' people I've come across in third world countries laugh easily and have genuine smiles on their faces, more then anything I've encountered in the west...

:} You will actually see me now eating my own words or at least some incorrect part of it. Ok, I still think suffering needs help possibly currently, not postponed, but I have to correct myself : We sometimes need the help of Buddha, God, saints, and whoever we pray above in most improbable situatio...

Re: How do you deal with self-doubt?

Self-doubt is sometimes my biggest challenge. In the past, I followed it from school to school, practice to practice, even to the doors of other religions. "I can't do this, my mind is too crazy, I don't have enough time, I can't/don't/won't..." In the end, no matter where I went or what ...
