Re: Tibetan or English?
Can you send me a link to that please.Fortyeightvows wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 10:08 pm English speakers need to start writing their liturgies so that they can follow a tune. Ideally the traditional tune- but if not at least some tune.
As far as chod goes, I know of one such liturgy in english.

Re: Drupchen/Drupchod
If you want to read about the most elaborate Drupchen that I know of, there's a doctoral thesis about the Gongpa Dupa Do, the root of all Anu Yoga in the Nyingma, out there on the interwebz, which goes into great detail about the specifics of the practice--basically there are a bunch of separate Dr...

Re: Damaru maintenance
Put the drum out of the sun, into a cold place during those days and it will dry - but it will dry tight for damp weather days. On sunny days it will be extra tight. This was an instruction he inherited from his teachers and one that he used in monsoon Nepal over many years. EEK :o Did I really wri...

Re: Damaru maintenance
Grigoris your advice is good. Both the wet tissue and the wet ash seem to accord what I was taught by Lama Jampa Monlam, a very old and long-standing Chod practitioner. Yes, putting in the sun does dry it but when it goes cold it does tend to go floppy again. Jampa Monlam recommended that when you w...

Re: when and where ? Chöd wang and lung
Traditionally the Dakini's Laughter does require empowerment, usually 'The Sky Opener' is the one given, but it could be Shije initiation instead. I Suvajra Tulku Dakpa, a Longchen Nyingtik lineage holder thinks otherwise; "In the Longchen Nyingthik tradition the practice of chöd does not requ...

Re: when and where ? Chöd wang and lung
Tulku Sang-gnag has said that there is no empowerment for Khandro Gyad-jang per se. In His case, He has given a Do Khyentse Sky-opening empowerment to students embarking on the practice of Khandro Gyad-jang. :namaste: You are right, there is no empowerment for the Khandro Gegyang, PER SE, but it do...

Re: What chöd does Lama Wangdu practice?
Lama Wangdu Rinpoche does Khandro Gegyang, Tsogle Rinchen Trengwa, Kusali Chö, Denthogchigma, Bliss Queen and various healing Chö including Changbu Gyatsho... And hold lineages for many others too. But Chö is a Life practice that goes far beyond a sadhana-cum-ritual with a drum and bell and he appli...

Dharmaswede... Lodrö Rinpoche is based in Switzerland where he specialises in keeping the Ganden lineage of chö alive. Traditionally the Dakini's Laughter does require empowerment, usually 'The Sky Opener' is the one given, but it could be Shije initiation instead. In practice some Lamas let you try...

Re: Tsogley Rinchen Trengwa
There is another translation. It was done by David Molk back in the 90s. He lost his original (crashed memory disc, I think) and I re-did it for him. He said it wasn't a brilliant translation as it was one of his earlier translations but I've found that the meaning for each section comes across clea...

Hundred Handprint Healing Chod recording
Here's a recording I made and put on you tube of the Hundred Handprint Healing Chod ritual. It was recorded around 2007-9 (I can't remember which of the sessions I recorded) at Lama Wangdu Rinpoche's gompa in Tusal, Boudha, Nepal. It's accompanied by a set of photos mostly taken at he gompa but not ...
