Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
Please add Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche to the list of Lamas that supported Rinpoche. I'm at the point where I most likely won't take teachings from any lama who has a negative opinion of ChNN. For a Lama to think negative of or be dismissive of him and his massive accomplishments is indicative of his/her o...

Re: A project for the benefit of homeless people
Happening these days on a monthly base in Germany. I love this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=emb_logo&v=PoWd4eCaF-s At the end they wrote: "Due to respect for the people we didn't show the long talks, appreciation and care that happened as well " Being homeless in Germany, I'm sure, is lif...

Re: Pegyal Lingpa's Seven-line Prayer Sadhana
I am looking for a digital version of Pegyal Lingpa's Seven-line Prayer sadhana. I received the lung from Gochen Tulku Sang-ngak Rinpoche. My regular email address [email protected].com if you'd be willing to share it with me. Thanks sent Malcolm, could you please send me a copy as well? Thank you!

Re: Buddhism's class "problem"
As a lower class western buddhist there is a big class difference, however as much as I want to bitch and moan (which I do) about this issue it comes down to one's merit, or lack thereof.

Re: How To Deal with Homeless People?
I live and work in a major city area. With that, I encounter homeless people on a daily basis. Some are old, some are young. Some are handicapped and others looked able body. A few are running a scam every day on tourists....I see the same guy pretending to only need $5 to catch the bus home...once...

Re: sang without transmission
Well i guess that depends of you consider the roots of sang making smoke or if you consider them to be boddhicitta, offering to the four guests, wisdom ..etc If its the latter then definitly buddhist roots. And Chnn definitly acknowledges dzogchen bompo linage and event taught some Where did you co...

ChNN and Bön
Can one do sang without transmission? Sang offering is an aborigen thing, a tibetan practice, and afaik it doesn't have roots in buddhadharma. Maybe you can just make aromatic smoke and offer it. Well i guess that depends of you consider the roots of sang making smoke or if you consider them to be ...

Re: sang without transmission
"Sang offering is an aborigen thing, a tibetan practice, and afaik it doesn't have roots in buddhadharma." This is one opinion. However, not all Lamas agree with this. Two years ago, Tulku Sang-ngag gave a very masterful rebuttal to this opinion . "Naga Amendment of Breaches" includes sang and is a...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
The damaru isn’t used in medium and long tuns. A ritual drum is used in the Ngagkong but it’s not necessary.
Best resource for the mudras is the Tundus Tundrin Tungyas dvd.

Re: working hard
A lot of people, including some teachers, do seem to taken the gentler approach and say 'just do your best' or the like. It is a trick. Your best is 100% of your current capacity. There is nothing gentle about that. Maybe I should pm you, but anyhow, is it a good idea to ask for your teache...

Re: On Generosity & Offerings
Sherab-la, "I think that most westerners entered the dharma coming from some judeo-christian background and as a result when asked to donate to dharma centers/teachers etc/ are more resistant to practice generosity." I'm not sure why you say this. Why would coming from a Judeo-Christian background ...

Re: On Generosity & Offerings
Sherab Rigdrol, I agree the tone is a little off-putting. I think Tulku Sherdor is leaking some of His frustration dealing with Western Dharma students. I think He's responding to the very tough position some of His students place Him in. As a Teacher, He can't directly tell His students they need ...

Re: On Generosity & Offerings
Tulku Sherdor of Blazing Wisdom in Saugerties, NY, and heart-son of Orgyen Kusum Lingpa, posted the following on FB today. I thought it was useful and so am re-posting it here. I've put it under Tibetan Buddhism because He makes a number of allusions to specifically Vajrayana Buddhism. Twenty Simpl...

Re: Buddha Shakyamuni and Dzogchen
The first of the twelve primordial teachers is Tönpa Nangwa Tampa, the last one is Buddha Shakyamuni who didn’t teach directly Dzogchen teaching. Indeed among the twelve teachers someone taught the Dzogchen teaching directly, someone indirectly. Buddha Shakyamuni did not transmit the Dzogchen teach...
