Re: What is final nirvana in the Tibetan tradition?
From the point of understanding of ordinary beings, Perfect awareness, and extinction of “consciousness” (as we experience it) appear as contradictory. Two totally different things. This seems to be your reoccurring dilemma. But for a Buddha, this is not a contradiction at all. You might even say t...

Re: Practice advice please
Isn’t the Dharma more powerful than any astrological conditions? A great Lama once told me that some cultures can’t be separated from their religions while others, like the modern western culture, can. So the “right astrological conditions“ is something that is rooted in eastern culture rather than...

Re: Quote from Patrul Rinpoche
Well if one is in 9 years of retreat that would be a renunciation right? Bodhicitta here means “mind and heart”. Patrul being clever as usual. If you are in retreat but don't stop thinking of worldy affairs and are motivated by the eight worldly dharmas you don't have renunciation. What do you mean...

Re: Dorje Drollo
Or maybe I'm wrong? Dorje Drollo isnt inside barche lamsel? Barche lamsel is a prayer to invoke the activities of Guru Rinpoche, so in a general way Drollo is included since that is a form of Guru Rinpoche. It isnt a Drollo practice however. There are many different terma of Drollo, in order to pra...

Re: Dorje Drollo
I have always been interested in Dorje Drollo. What does the practice look like? Does it consist of a specific mantra? I have been a Ngondro practice for a long time now, but I have not come across anything Dorje Drollo related other than maybe 'Barche Lamsel - the Prayer that dispels all obstacles...

Re: Yeshe Lama Empowerment and Transmission
Hi Everyone, Wanted to know if this is offered anymore, or if anyone knows if it's going to be offered in the future. I know because of the pandemic it will be awhile, if it is. Thanks very much ! It is offered. The empowerment, as Pema says above is the rigpai tsal wang. The Yeshe Lama has it's ow...

Re: Dorje trollo
I did retreats of two different cycles of Drollo.
Some people note difficulties and obstacles arising but honestly, this is just a part of being a practitioner. Once one develops some capacity with Drollo or Kilaya these kinds of obstacles become far more manageable.

Re: Is a Lung Sufficient?
Anyway is getting off topic, can someone practice , mother or father tantras or union of both, i.e. Kalachakra after receiving rigpai tsal wang with just the lung from outer, lower or inner, higher yoga tantra? Regards Depends on who your teacher is. Currently without. The two greatest teachers of ...

Re: Is a Lung Sufficient?
I don't think a Sakya or Gelug lama would be ok with you practising a sarma yidam on that basis. Of course you could, from a Nyingma perspective, conclude that it's ok; or you could use one of the methods to give yourself permission to read any text or do any practice that are out there. But then y...

Re: Decreased interest in Tantric practice
I have found my interest in new Tantric practices waning over time. Prior to taking teachings from ChNN I received a lot of initiations, and generally took attending them quite seriously. Since this time I have the reoccurring feeling that I have enough of them, and find it harder to get all ginned...
