Re: Hotheads

I also have a "hothead" that I have to deal with. Often, when he gets an idea in his head he will defend it almost to the point of violence. On more than one occasion, he has yelled, threatened, intimidated, bullied and sulked to get what he wants. Sadly, it often works as people move away from him ...

Re: Being healthier

I find that I eat healthier and eat less when I track what I eat. I eat something, then write it down. Then I ask why I ate too much, or what happened when I ate the chocolate bar earlier in the d...

Re: 75 Years Since the Atomic Bombs

I found out recently that I have a deceased relative who served on the squadron that supported the Enola Gay. He was apparently on Tinian Island when that plane took off to drop "Big Boy" onto Hiroshima. He is listed on the Manhattan Project site and I have seen pictures and other documentation, so ...

Re: Ageism or common sense?

Many parts of the modern world no longer seem to value wisdom. As for world leaders with handicaps, Franklin Delano Roosevelt couldn't walk throughout the entire length of his presidency, yet many consider him one of the greatest presidents the United States has seen, though he was by no means perfe...

Re: Time for new friends?

I abandoned a few groups of friends earlier in life because I found them becoming increasingly toxic and I wanted nothing more to do with them. I did the same with a past girlfriend whom I actually loved at one point. Though we had deep feelings for each other, which we confessed before finally brea...
