Re: Fivefold Mahamudra Texts

That is a very good way to think. If I could give you one advice, it would be to try and find within a reasonable distance some Drikung lamas you could follow bit more closely, ask questions, etc. Because that is really most valuable. You may not have a chance to receive many things f...

Re: Fivefold Mahamudra Texts

But personally, regardless of what people might say, I don’t think there is any benefit from practicing something like this if you have not received some sort of empowerment either via livestream or in person. Fair enough, although I tend to defer to the guru. If H.E. Garchen Rinpoche intends for r...

Re: Fivefold Mahamudra Texts

For the ngondro for sure. I dunno about the sadhana as you would need also lung for it etc. If there is a lama around you or center it is for sure good idea to go and make personal contact or at least for now listen to teachings (once we all wont die of covid ofc). For now, do the ngondro. There is...

Re: Fivefold Mahamudra Texts

The first is a sadhana for the entire five fold path. It is a simplified sadhana for people who do not have time to go through the longer one and it is from ngondro to mahamudra. Here empowerments, lungs and tri are needed. The second text is Garchen Rinpoche's ngondro. It is very short compared to...

Fivefold Mahamudra Texts

Hi, can someone please help me understand the difference between these two Fivefold Mahamudra texts? https://garchen.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/010-001-tib-en-Stream-of-Blessings-kpl.pdf https://drikungseattle.org/?ddownload=131 The first clearly seems to be more concise, which is meant to be us...

Re: Dudjom Tersar Ngondro

they have those sample basic structure, the verses for recitation in the KT and throma are four line, but not two line. But one really ought not be negotiating the number of syllables. One should just do whatever practice ones teacher asks one to do. Got it, thanks! Agreed on number of syllables, w...

Re: Dudjom Tersar Ngondro

Pema Osel Ling is Dudjom Yangsi Pema Shepa Dorje’s NA seat. Many people begin with Khandro thugtik or Throma Ngondro directly. Thanks for the response! Am I correct in understanding that all three ngondros have the same underlying practices, but that those two are more extensive in the number of re...

Dudjom Tersar Ngondro

Hi, I hope that you are all doing well. I am interested to hear about any experiences that anyone here has had with the Dudjom Tersar Ngondro and/or with Pema Osel Ling/Vajrayana Foundation. I've listened to some of the teachings from Lama Sonam Rinpoche and others, and I find the concise nature of ...

Continuing Along the Path During COVID?

Hi, hope that all are well. I've reached a point in my practice where I would like to begin ngondro. Unfortunately, all of the resources that I have found online require certain preliminaries in order to begin ngondro practices, and none of those preliminaries seem to be offered at the moment given ...

Tergar Online - Ngondro Transmission and Pointing Out Instructions

Hi, I hope that you are all well. I recently signed up for Tergar's Vajrayana Online subscription, and I have a few questions about the prerequisites needed to be able to take the Dzogchen Immersion course. Does completing their Ngondro course satisfy the prerequisite of having received Ngondro tran...
