Re: 100k Vajrasattva mantra preliminary
I completed Ngondro when I thought I was in a Gelug Sangha. Took over 2 years. It had no real value I can identify, whereas intensive practice in the way advised by Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche produced effects after a few days. So make absolutely sure this is the best method for you. Hi, I am a Sakya pr...

Question on merit multiplication
Hello, first of all, I would like to apologize for my last question here. I realized after posting it that such a thing would be unbeneficial to a dying being even though I did not think about that at the time and I would like to thank the person who pointed that out to me as well. That being said, ...

Re: Question on mantra for dead and unconscious beings
I don't have any mantra to recommend nor the qualifications to do so, but regarding reviving them... wouldn't that simply hinder from progressing further? For all we know their next one is a precious human body. I understand. You may be right. I have recited the Mani mantra many times and dedicated...

Question on mantra for dead and unconscious beings
Hello, this will sound strange to ask so bear with me, is there any mantra or practice to revive a small animal such as an insect or small fish from unconsciousness or death? I am asking because my pet fish has died; I have done a lot of practice so that it may have a better next life instead of an ...

Vajra Armor path is all the way from Ngondro through Thogal? Is this real?
I read somewhere the Vajra Armor practice path is all the way from the Sutra teaching all the way through Thogal over a long period of time, is this real? What is Vajra Armor? Which teachers do this, and do Malcolm, Sangye Khandro or Lama Chonam teach in these methods?

Tashi Choling...
Greetings. I think you all should view Tashi Choling's schedule and transmissions. For example, EVERY NEW MOON, except for breaks in their schedule, Tashi Choling does the transmission of a concise Chod practice relating with Troma Nagmo (Other names for this deity include Krodhi Kali, and the Wrath...

Greetings. EVERY NEW MOON, except for breaks in their schedule, Tashi Choling does the transmission of a concise Chod practice relating with Troma Nagmo (Other names for this deity include Krodhi Kali, and the Wrathful Black Mother). http://www.tashicholing.org/programs.html This is the schedule you...

Re: If one is Transgender and Dzogchen/Vajrayana practice…
Here is my question. If one is transgender then does this mean they cannot practice Vajrayana or Dzogchen because I remember hearing some things about the channels in the body having relation with the gender, etc. and also I am wondering if since the h*rmones and also g*nitals are changed it has an...

Re: Killing animals... Is it acceptable in Dzogchen
Can we kill or hunt if we are a Dzogchen practitioner, or should we avoid killing animals unless it is necessary? Further, may the meat/corpse from a dying animal be given in any type of offering practice (At least visualizing it as offered) or would it be disrespectful (not sure if this is the rig...

If one is Transgender and Dzogchen/Vajrayana practice…
Hey, I was going to post this on Malcolm’s forum but I figured it is a controversial subject and I did not want to cause problems on his website. So I will post it here. I don’t intend for this to cause any negative issues - It is a genuine question that I am asking. Here is my question. If one is t...

Re: Killing animals... Is it acceptable in Dzogchen
Do not regard Dzogchen as something separate from ethics. That's a mistake beloved of the "it's-all-good" failed hippie mindset. That is not what I meant at all, I know a lot of people have a mistaken idea dzogchen is separate from karma etc. I meant whether in general it is acceptable fo...

The Zangdok Palri isn't a fully purified realm?
Raksashas and so on in Zangdok Palri... I have read that there is such a thing and the realm is not fully pure but it is harder comparatively to be reborn in Sukhavati. Why? I thought Amitabha's 18th vow was that even if you think ten thoughts of wanting to be reborn in his realm and recite his name...

How do we accumulate millions of mantras?
The last thing I'd want is to let this precious life that lets me practice pass without being diligent, but if I am lazy instead of using this opportunity, that might just be what occurs. How can I come to accumulate millions of mantras like the masters of the past, quickly but profoundly and with s...

Re: Dzogchen and Vajrayana
Dear "Katty3n", Please don't misunderstand what Dzogchen Community means. Actually, it is a specific group that was made by Chogyal Namkhai Norbu. But they are not the only ones that teach Dzogchen. You may be interested in Lama Lena. She gives teachings online. But I ask you something, co...

Re: What cognitive skills does one need?
What is the method for increasing faith in our teachers? You have to reflect on their kindness, compassion, wisdom, and qualities over and over again until you feel it in your bones. Do you have tips for how to do it? Hello Sir, I would recommend also that lineage prayers have a similar function in...

Re: Did the Buddha teach against killing a being quickly out of mercy?
Thanks for the responses, everyone. This is quite a bit to consider.. Johnny Dangerous, I think your point makes a lot of sense, all things considered - In the case you mentioned, people using it to ignore the discomfort of seeing death, it’s just about a pity that makes you depressed rather than ge...

Did the Buddha teach against killing a being quickly out of mercy?
Hello,
It is an interesting question... The answer is probably somewhat obvious but I want to be sure. Is it true that the Buddha taught against killing beings in a lot of suffering, out of mercy? For example, euthanasia for a sick dog etc.?
Thank you.

Re: Having some doubts recently...
I wanna give an update here. I think my main error was not doing much reflection to get some certainty before I began a session of practice and maybe this is where any sort of subtle misunderstandings or confusion before might’ve come in, not sure but it helped me; Now that I’m doing that more, thes...
