Re: bad dreams after reciting sutras ?
In the Ksitigarbha Sutra, which I’m reciting today, the Bodhisattva’s Birthday, n dedicate merits for, it mention if one dreams of evil ghosts, family members n relatives, or one is wandering in dangerous paths, or having many nightmares of wandering with ghosts n spirits... all these represent karm...

Re: Guanyin's method
I wish I had the language skills to penetrate contemporary Chinese Buddhism. My exposure is limited to watching grainy VHS videos broadcast late at night on public access cable channels of an old monk giving lectures to lay people with spotty subtitles. This was years ago - I don't recall the teach...

Re: Guanyin's method
Are you referring to TBS (True Budd...) ? This is one of the most flagrant but there have been others who aren't as obvious. My Rinpoche went to TBS temple n tell me it’s not the right path. I went there occasionally because some relatives follow this school. I was shocked when i saw KFC n Martell ...

Re: Guanyin's method
The thing is there are just many people who have studied both Tibetan Buddhism and Chan in China since they are both very popular. That's not really what I'm talking about. I'm saying that there have been figures in East Asia who claimed to be masters in Ch'an, have realizations from Vajrayana prac...

Re: Guanyin's method
Hi, I was reading the chapter on the Shurangama Sutra that describes the method he used to attain enlightenment: turning his faculty of hearing inward and emptying his awareness. Is there a commentary on this chapter that provides more detail on how this is done? I’ve practiced it, it’s known as th...

Re: About a nihilistic adrift of Buddhadharma
Can we say it actually meant non-self; not no self. No self is largely interpreted as no soul while non-self is being selfless in nature without attachment. Some people argued that anatta mean no soul. This concept belied the other concept of samsara. And the Buddha encouraged us to be reborn in Su...

I found an interesting article to share. Balancing the 1st and 4th chakra energies: A 4TH-1ST CHAKRA BALANCING MEDITATION Sit comfortably, with legs long or crossed. Support your back so you can let your spine lengthen. Feel the sit bones spread evenly into your seat. Imagine the space widening, inc...

Re: Working with anger
For this reason, you need to spend a lot more time when you are not angry on "intellectually" understanding the problems of allowing anger to take over, meditating and thinking about the negative effects of practicing anger. Can we visualise things like annoying matters flushed away by the waterfal...

2. Stay with it in its pure form, pure anger, without encouraging or even attending to the stories that accompany it. Pema Chodron says pure emotions tend to burn themselves out after about 90 seconds. If stories enter the fray, these 90 seconds can become hours, days, a lifetime In anger today n i...

Re: in practice chan do I need teacher !
Hi, need advise from Chan practitioners. In some Chan learning centres n temples, i am told that a Master is required to prevent spirits from entering the body. I heard the same thing in Yoga. Is that correct? I know practicing Chan generally requires a Master and the right place for beginners. The ...

Definitely not Chaan because he discourage meditation.
It is possible that the Bodhisattva open a new dharma door to help human. Its methods r easier for most people but the it doesnt stray from the main principles
