Re: The Myth of Progress

These questions of adaptation were a matter of intense debate in the 13th century when Sakya Pandita cautioned his fellow Tibetans, “Since there is nobody in the three realms wiser than the Buddha, one should not adulterate the sutras and tantras that he taught. To do so is to abandon the doctrine ...

Re: Lama Jampa Thaye

Hi, Weird.... I just thought I'd do a search for Lama Jampa as he's my teacher and it's interesting to see whether people are talking about him... And so I saw your question. Re: Tögal for dzogchen beginners?

Hi . . . I've had a rare teaching on this and I think you need a teacher . . . but I think it's different to initiation - would need to ask a qualified lama. More generally Lama Jampa Thaye lays out the reason we need a teacher in the following video: https://youtu.be/BDcUj8nhCqo

Re: Great Sakya Books

I run the shop at Sakya Thinley Rinchen Ling in Bristol, UK. Our main Lama is Lama Jampa Thaye of Kagyu and Sakya schools. We keep all of his books in stock but there's a number of other decent titles which might not be strictly Sakya but have a connection. Books such as 'Taking the Result of the Pa...
