Picture resizing tool recommendation?

Postby Ben » Sat Mar 31, 2012 11:21 pm

Hi all,
I just tried to use picresize.com to resize a photo or two and found that it ain't working for me anymore.
Can any of you recommend an alternative free online (or free downloadable) pic resizing tool?
Thanks

Ben

Greetings Ben,

If it's just a one-off resizing, just try MS Paint and see if that's satisfactory for your purposes.

(It's all too easy to clog up the hard-drive with applications you very rarely use, and they can also clog up the system registry, sometimes even once removed)

Not sure if you meant resizing the picture or the file size, but either way, I use Picasa.

Hi Pilgrim,
I was looking for something that would resize a photo's image dimensions so that I could resize my large digital photos to a size that be easy to view here on Dhamma Wheel. As it turned out, I got frustrated with windows paint and downloaded Irfan View - as per Kevin's recommendation. Unfortunately, when I did, I think I did something wrong as now all my jpegs are now associated with Irfan View!
Anyway, the fruit of the resizing is my post in the Bodhi Tree thread in the Shrine Room forum.
kind regards,

Ben

You can find some tips about using both and on my software review pages.

I would say that PhotoResizer is the best if that's all you want to do — IrfanView is a lot more powerful. The latest was only recently released.
