This election: DON'T VOTE

Postby Individual » Fri Oct 29, 2010 9:19 pm

This election: don't vote. Your vote means nothing. If you're smart enough to know that isn't true, good; you'll show up on election day anyway. Otherwise, DON'T VOTE.

Just now I got an automated phone-call telling me the "Apple Ballot" is bad, to not trust it, that the teachers' union run it and it's evil. I had no idea what it was. Then when I googled it, I found out that the teachers' union actually stand outside the election booths, handing out a card telling people who to vote for. Am I really that stupid? Really? I'm going to bring a card in with me that I got at the door, telling me what to pick, with each option?

I'm so stupid that I'm going to vote one way because a guy handed me a card... I'm so stupid that I need an automated phonecall (and I'm on the Do Not Call list, btw) to tell me not to do this.

If you are Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin IRL, please, don't show up at the polls. You are destroying America (or whatever country you are in -- you are destroying that too).

Some of you guys have compulsory voting, don't you? How absurd that is!!!

Because there is no compulsory political study.

The "Individual" means nothing, unless we vote. So vote this 2 November.

To practice is to know your defilements,
To attain the goal is to know and let go.

Somebody like Obama could never be elected in America anymore, though, ever since the Supreme Court declared that because corporations are legally regarded as "persons", then they therefore have "free speech", which means the right to limitless campaign contributions.

Ironically, under this interpretation, corporations have constitutional rights as persons. But the buying and selling of corporations isn't regarded as slavery.

Unless you live in California, in that case vote Yes on Prop 19

Democracy is the worst form of government until you consider the alternatives. We are fortunate to live in democracies. We have a responsibility to support democracy.
