Arising of Compassion, Emptiness and the Bodhisattva Ideal ?

Historically, how did these ideas arise? They are all related, did they evolve together? Anyone know what the first scriptural use of the Mahayana Bodhisattva might be?

When own being and so called outer phenomena, duality vanishes through interdependency-emptiness, than the "naturally quality" wich can be called genuine compassion is in clarity.

The love which is than felt has no discrimination as the face of emptiness has no distinctions. As long as we experience object-subject can there be conventional compassion which is great to undo our being of afflictions and together with wisdom our nature can be revealed.

Thans for the link, interesting stuff. If i read that review right, the Mahayana may have begun with reactionary, ascetic, mysogynist forest dwelling monks. Who would have guessed ? Mahayana seems so broad and egalitarian. I would have guessed a more populist sort of beginning.
