If the retreat is full, you will be placed on a waiting list These retreats are ‘closed retreats’, which means they are conducted within boundaries. Once the retreat begins, participants are not allowed to leave the area within the boundary, not allowed to have email or phone communications, and must abide by the rules of boundaried retreats. Three meals will be provided each day as well as snacks and drinks.

Programme :
Over the past one thousand years, there have been numerous major teaching cycles of the Vajra Armor Mantra that have been revealed, including those of Dorje Lingpa, Mipham, Dudjom Lingpa, and Trak-thung Namkha I Jigme. These teachings outline a deep and profound path to realization and ultimately to Buddhahood through the practice of healing and rebalancing the outer and inner elements.

'Located on the bluffs overlooking the pristine Upper Mississippi River Valley in Northeast Iowa, Saraswati Bhawan is dedicated to providing an ideal environment for in-depth and personalized instruction, especially for those fortunate practitioners who recognize the importance of following a dedicated path of practice. We are not a public Dharma center; rather, we are a small, dedicated community of practitioners who operate a private retreat facility, providing practice opportunities for those who wish to study directly under Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche’s guidance.'

Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche studied with some of the greatest meditation masters of the twentieth century, and achieved success in many avenues of Vajrayana practice. He is most well-known for his attainment in the Dorje Yudronma melong divination.

In 1989 Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche was invited to visit the USA where he founded a centre in California named Thubten Chöling. Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche received Kalachakra and Drölkar (White Tara) empowerment and practised Drölkar root mantra 1,300,000 times. The Essential Kalachakra and Drölkar remain part of his daily practice.

From his youth Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche has been interested in Dorje Yangchenma (Saraswati), the female yidam who embodies wisdom. In 1979 he received the secret empowerment of Yangchen Marmo (Red Saraswati) from Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, a gTerma which was discovered by the gTerton Chokyi Gocha. The protectors connected with Yangchen Marmo are Dorje Yudrönma and Black Dzambhala. Under Kyabje Dilgo Khyentsé Rinpoche’s guidance, Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche entered retreat and achieved the full attainment of the Dorje Yudrönma mirror empowerment of prediction on the basis of which he is able to see into past, present and future.
