If you are in Germany or Austria (or simply prefer to discuss the teachings in German), and you are interested in Tendai-shu, this google group will be of interest to you:

DGA's PhD dissertation, a history of "mindfulness," is available here:

JIkan;

Chih-I:
The Tai-ching states "the women in the realms of Mara, Sakra and Brahma all neither abandoned ( their old) bodies nor received (new) bodies. They all received buddhahood with their current bodies (genshin)" Thus these verses state that the dharma nature is like a great ocean. No right or wrong is preached (within it) Ordinary people and sages are equal, without superiority or inferiority

I'm not sure if they're in Frankfurt any longer.

Hi Rory, nice to read from you!
Not really! I remain as a member of the sangha and only resigned as an official for Germany - still caring about what happens with Tendai here.
Best wishes and gassho
Daishin

Daishin;
Sorry for my misunderstanding, what do you practice these days? Pure Land, shikan...I started reading Swanson's book on Chih-I. It's difficult but I am enjoying it.
