I tried posting the pics for you, and it seemed they worked...for a moment. But looks like they're gone now.

From what I can tell, it appeared to me like an empowerment was being given.......

One reason for wearing these hats, etc. is taking self-initiation during a drubchen. That would be my guess.

Yes, it is Khenchen Lama in the photo. Does anyone know him or had teachings from him before?

Never received any teaching from him, he his the master of vajra friends, I had a short talk with him once and he "seems" to be quite "clear". His lineage is also quite "secure" ...

Yes, I've received teachings from Him and would definitely receive more if the opportunity arose. I very much liked His style.

I think that's just how they are spelling Nyingma.
"All phenomena of samsara depend on the mind, so when the essence of mind is purified, samsara is purified. Since the phenomena of nirvana depend on the pristine consciousness of vidyā, because one remains in the immediacy of vidyā, buddhahood arises on its own. All critical points are summarized with those two." - Longchenpa

I think that's just how they are spelling Nyingma.
But then they'd be saying Sera Yangtul Rinpoche was the head of the
Nyingma Lineage.... There was never any head of the
Nyingma lineage until HH Dalai Lama requested and appointed
HH Dudjom Rinpoche as such to help preserve the tradition and
unite it in exile....we know all the "heads" that followed. I've never heard of a unique head of the Nyingma lineage
within Chinese occupied Tibet. . . Does anyone know more about this?

Or is it possible Nyigma is not the same as Nyingma?

I won't be able to give an answer ... but you are right to interrogate. I'm also waiting for a global explanation and a full understanding of who is Khenchen Lama Rinpoché.
Curiously, except the sites belonging to Khenchen Lama, no one is speaking about him ?

Hey Dharma Wheel folks,

It has been some years since this thread was active, but I thought to bring about its resurrection as I'm looking for information on Khenchen Lama Pelgyeypa Dorje Rinpoche.

While there is the Awam Institute website and the translations of his compositions on Erick Tsiknopoulos' site, Khenchen Lama's blog, website for his centre in North Wales and his Facebook profile have disappeared. He does have a Facebook page - and is currently touring asia - but there is little more related to him.

According to his bio he was a student of Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, studying at Serta for 10 years.I find it curious though, that he has the title of Khenchen, yet other Serta graduates such as Khenpo Sodargye and Khenpo Tsultrim Lodro, do not.

So, if you have any experiences with him or information, please do share!
