Rinpoche or rinposhe?

Is there a dialect of Tibetan where the "che" in the word "rinpoche" would be pronounced with an "sh" sound?

I often hear it pronounced this way by Westerners, yet from my limited studies of Tibetan I'm not aware of any reason that this would be a correct way of pronouncing "rinpoche". But I also know that there are a lot of differences in pronunciation due to dialect.

Is the "sh" pronunciation incorrect?

Some even spell or pronounce it as Rimpoche or Rinboche...

I think this might represent a French influence. But the n --> m transformation is legit, and occurs in other languages as well (before labials).

རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ rin po che is pronounced just as it appears, with an aspirated "CH" sound. Che is basically an abbreviated form of Chen po, which means great.
རིན་པོ་ཅེ་ rin po ce apparently can also be used, which would sound more like "rinpoje," but yeah, the western pronunciation of "rimposhey" is just because of french influence.
