The title of the topic, "fanboys", sounds a bit queer, I mean, strange. :)

that's Tyrion Lannister you're talking about - not just any dwarf's balls!
All beings since their first aspiration till the attainment of Buddhahood are sheltered under the guardianship of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who, responding to the requirements of the occasion, transform themselves and assume the actual forms of personality.

Thus for the sake of all beings Buddhas and Bodhisattvas become sometimes their parents, sometimes their wives and children, sometimes their kinsmen, sometimes their servants, sometimes their friends, sometimes their enemies, sometimes reveal themselves as devas or in some other forms.

A dwarfs balls by any other name would measure up no bigger! (apologies to Shakespeare)

Ok enough of this. I find it very frustrating to moderate a board that repeatedly falls into the gutter.

Besides, if he's a dwarf, he's closer to the floor than you. Since profound means "deep" and both refer to the downward direction, his are obviously deeper than yours, and that's without getting into the descent issue.

On the subject of TCatWoL, I first read it over 14 years ago, needless to say it was life changing for me, completely changed my view of Dharma....of everything really... More than any other book I have ever read...

I still have the old beat up copy, the Arkana one, yellowing pages with the painting of ChNNR with Samantabhadra above his head. It says it was printed in 1993...the thing is, the image on the front is a mis-print, it is a mirror image of the original. I kinda like it :)

Anyone else seen this?

I think he's using the word's original definition, which just means something like "odd."

I think our male hegemony here is clear enough. So maybe, just this once, we can throw the ladies a bone and rename the thread ChNN Fanpeople, and to edit Tom's original post to say " Crystal and the Way of Light is profound as both balls and ovaries"? :consoling:

Is that just because we don't really have an appropriately vulgar word for ovaries? Perhaps we should get some input from the ladies about which of their ladyparts would be the most appropriate symbol of profundity?

PS: I must say, "profound as tits" does have quite a ring to it.

How old are you, guys?
It is good to have fun and I am also smiling here... :P
But seriously now, do you think it is a good idea to have in the title the name of Rinpoche and then talking about... balls?
As for the word "fanboys".... hmm I think it is better to change. You like it or not, you are not alone in this world!!!

The good idea is to let it liberate by itself ... not to reify it!

By understanding that any and all mental activity is meditation, you are freed from arbitrary divisions between formal sessions and postmeditation activity.
