I am happy to find the Wheel websites. I hope to make some friends in the Dharma.
I am Noah, 30, live in Atlanta, Georgia. I would argue that I live in the most diverse city in the US and that is my fav thing about it. I have studied the Pali Scriptures for many years and read many Dharma Texts. I am interested in interacting with like-minded individuals
A change in my devotion to the Dharma came late last year when I read/studied the Lotus Sutra for the first time. Profound is just a word that inadequately describes the teachings. Thank you for these communities

Aw yea! I am not just INTERESTED in the Lotus Sutra- it is my favorite and brought a depth to my understanding of the Dharma that I didn't know before. I look forward to meeting you all and sharing our understanding of the most wonderful teaching the world has ever known

Hopefully sometime you can read some of Nagarjuna's works as well. Very beautiful and profound.

Yessir! My only experience with praja-paramita is the Diamond Sutra. I read alot. My heart is in the Buddha's direct teachings (pali texts) but the Mahayana Sutras deepen and widen my understanding of the Dharma and there is no doubt that all the accepted teachings have merit

Hi Noah, welcome to Dharma Wheel. I wanted to ask: why do you consider the Pali texts the direct teachings? Do you believe the Mahayana sutras are indirect? Just trying to understand your meaning!Noah wrote:Yessir! My only experience with praja-paramita is the Diamond Sutra. I read alot.
