Hello from Meditating Bob

Post by Meditating Bob »

Hello folks,

I'm Bob from the Peak District of the UK, new here but not new to Buddhism. I first came across Buddhism on a year out from Uni in the early 90s working in London where I found a wonderful teacher at the Jamyang Centre (Geshe Namgyal Wangchen?). Unfortunately I had to go home all too soon and ended up in an area with very little in the way of Buddhism going on. After discovering Karate and Iaido I took to Zen and formed an informal sitting group with other martial artists. Since that finished I have not really done much but I have just signed on for a weekend retreat at Samye Ling to give me a kick-start back into regular practice in the Tibetan tradition. Always lots to learn and I have finally managed to conquer my apathy at having nothing suitable locally (its taken me years!) so you never know, I might actually get it all together this time.

Cheers

Bob
