OM SVASTI
O our gurus, and your line of lamas, for whom we have the deepest gratitude,
You who are the repository of the three: secret powers of body, speech, and mind of innumerable buddhas,
Who manifest in a miraculous way to each devotee according to his capacity,
To you, who are the wish-fulfilling gems, the source of all virtues and good qualities,
We offer our prayers with intense devotion
That our protector of the great Land of Snows,
Tenzin Gyatso, upholder of the Dharma, the great ocean,
May live for a hundred eons.
Pour on him your blessings
That his aspirations may be fulfilled.

The dharmadhatu, the inexpressible reality that pervades all things like the heavens,
Immaculate, full of great bliss and transcendental wisdom,
Manifests like a cloud the numberless abodes of the higher divinities,
The mandalas of the heavenly beings.
To all the higher forms of the divine ones, the yidams,
We offer our prayers with intense devotion
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the great Land of Snows,
May live for a hundred eons.
Pour on him your blessings
That his aspirations may be fulfilled.

O you numberless buddhas of the past, present, and future
Who are the masters of the ten powers and teachers of the gods,
Whose attributes of perfection, free from defilements and born of realization
Are the source of the buddha-activity
That appears for all time in the ocean of the suffering of the world
For the sake of all sentient beings —
To you we offer our prayers with intense devotion
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the great Land of Snows,
May live for a hundred eons.
Pour on him your blessings
That his aspirations may be fulfilled.

O sacred Dharmas of the three yanas,
Which liberate us from the sufferings of the three worlds,
Supremely calm, the jewel treasure of the fully enlightened ones,
Without impurities, unchanging, eternally good, the peak of virtues,
To you we offer our prayers with intense devotion
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the great Land of Snows,
May live for a hundred eons.
Pour on him your blessings
That his aspirations may be fulfilled.

O all you arya Sangha, awakened and unsullied,
Of highest valour in conquering the suffering of the wheel of life
With the transcendental wisdom that directly intuits the deeper truth,
Never departing from the indestructible vajra abode of nirvana -
To you we offer our prayers with intense devotion
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the great Land of Snows,
May live for a hundred eons.
Pour on him your blessings
That his aspirations may be fulfilled.

O you dakas and dakinis, heavenly beings of the three worlds,
Who appear in the highest paradises, the sacred places, the cremation grounds,
Who have innumerable experiences of the bliss of the void,
Supporting the yogis in their meditation on the excellent path,
To you all we offer our prayers with intense devotion
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the great Land of Snows,
May live for a hundred eons.
Pour on him your blessings
That his aspirations may be fulfilled.

To the ocean of guardians of the teaching, who possess the eye of transcendental wisdom,
Carrying on their matted locks the knot
Symbolic of the vows they made to Vajradhara Buddha,
The powerful ones who protect the teaching and the upholders of the Dharma -
We offer you our prayers with intense devotion
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the great Land of Snows,
May live for a hundred eons.
Pour on him your blessings
That his aspirations may be fulfilled.

To all you guileless ones, in whom we take the excellent refuge,
We pray with intense devotion, humbly, from our very heart,
That by the strength of these verses
Ngawang Losang Tenzin Gyatso,
He who has power over speech, the kindly one,
Upholder of the Dharma, the great ocean,
He who possesses the three secret powers,
May be indestructible, eternal, and without end.
That, seated on the supreme unconquerable throne of the vajra,
He may live for a hundred eons.
Pour on him your blessings
That his aspirations may be fulfilled.

You who bear the burdens of innumerable buddhas,
With courage carrying on your shoulders the vast activities of the fully enlightened ones,
Working for the well of all beings, like the wish-fulfilling gem, the jewel of jewels,
May your aspiration be perfectly fulfilled.

By virtue of this may the golden era be opened
Like a gate to the great spaces, liberating all sentient beings,
Coming as the happiness of spring which comforts our sorrows
And helps the teaching of the Buddha to spread in all directions and in all ages,
Making it prosper to the summit of samsara and nirvana.

O you with the lotus in your hand, may the nectar stream of your blessing
Strengthen our mind and bring it to maturity.
May we be able to please you by practicing the Dharma;
Through accomplishing at all times the good deeds of the bodhisattvas,
May we reach nirvana.

By the blessings of the wondrous buddhas and bodhisattvas,
By the unassailable truth of the spiritual laws of cause and effect,
By the unstained power of the pure mind,
May the aim of my prayers soon be accomplished.

The Melody of the Nectar of Immortality
by Jamyang Khyentse Chokyi Lodro

A Prayer for the Long Life of His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, Supreme Victor and Omniscient One

Om Svasti!
The vast love and primordial wisdom of the buddhas
All are embodied in Lokeshvara, white like a dazzling snow mountain,
Sublime and holy Lord of the World. You who are his emanation,
A guru for each and every being in the three realms: may you be victorious!

Wondrous and without equal in the three worlds;
Omniscient and as unique as the udumbara flower,
Great crown jewel for the teachings and all beings on earth:
Supreme victorious one, Holder of the Lotus--I pray for your long life!

Always and forever enlightened, yet in this age of conflict
You gather living beings within your embrace,
Your resolve and your commitment unshakeable like a vajra:
Great lord on the tenth bhumi--I pray for your long life!

All the realizations of the stages of the path to enlightenment
Are merged as one with your secret body, speech and mind,
Your qualities of knowledge and love inconceivable:
Second Buddha of the north--I pray for your long life!

Of teaching, debate and composition, your mastery is unimpaired,
In you the eight great treasures of brilliance have opened wide,
With 'specific perfect understanding', you teach the Dharma:
You who are victorious in every direction--I pray for your long life!

Through your explanation, accomplishment and activity, you spread
The enlightened Tsongkhapa's precious teaching in a hundred directions,
Annihilating the deluded arguments of malicious opponents,
Fearless Lion of Speech, Manjushri-I pray for your long life!

On the secret mantra's gradual path of the Triple Vision and Triple Tantra,
As the four mandalas are absorbed through the profound yogas of the four empowerments,
You realize directly the wisdom of the four kayas:
All-pervading lord Vajradhara--I pray for your long life!

Mahamudra is the natural state of all things,
Profound emptiness and clarity, indivisible:
With the sunlight of its innate wisdom you dispel the darkness of samsara and nirvana:
Great lord of yogins, Milarepa--I pray for your long life!

From the treasury of all the mysteries in the ocean of tantras
You make the exquisite water of the four rivers that mature and liberate
Flow into the fields of fortunate disciples:
Vajrapani, Lord of Secrets--I pray for your long life!

Everything in samsara and nirvana occurs as the play of interdependence,
Arising yet primordially unborn, a state of utter peace:
Wise teacher of this profound Madhyamaka that is free from all conceptual elaboration,
'Lord of Nagas' - Nagarjuna--I pray for your long life!

Kulika Pundarika, skilled and perfect exponent of the Kalachakra,
With its inseparable outer, inner and alternative cycles,
Has appeared in the land of Tibet in the form of a spiritual friend:
You who are in essence the original buddha, Kalachakra--I pray for your long life!

All phenomena of samsara and nirvana are the expanse of the sphere of luminosity--
Unfluctuating, spontaneously Great Perfection:
In self-liberation, beyond all action, you attain the kingdom of fruition,
Primordial lord Samantabhadra--I pray for your long life!

Fearless, and without mixing or confusing them,
You steer onwards the great chariot of all the Buddha's teachings;
Sole refuge for the teachings and for all beings:
Lord Tenzin Gyatso--I pray for your long life!

A hundred times with reverence and awe,
The jeweled heads of the mighty ones of the three worlds,
Bow to the auspicious wheels of your lotus feet:
Great sovereign of Dharma--I pray for your long life!

As the lord of the gods, annihilating the demonic forces of the asuras
With the hundred-pointed vajra of power, energy and strength,
Destroying the rocky mountains of wrong and perverted views,
Fearsome Shri Heruka--I pray for your long life!

As long as this earth, Mount Meru, sun and moon endure,
May you remain secure, invincible, on your vajra throne
In the celestial mansion of Potala, Avalokiteshvara's delight,
Your secret body, speech and mind forever changeless!

Through the grace of the three supreme deities of Long Life,
And the power of the truth of masters, yidams, buddhas and bodhisattvas,
May all that we have prayed for be blessed
And so accomplished without any obstacle!

Paying reverence with his body, his speech and his mind, the one who bears the name of the incarnation of Jamyang Khyentse, Jamyang Chokyi Lodro from the realm of Dokham in the east wrote this as he prayed with fervent devotion, at the Samdrup family house, to the south of the great temple of Rasa Trulnang (the Jokhang), in Lhasa in Central Tibet. He then offered this prayer to the great omniscient one himself. May it become a cause for his life to be secure for countless aeons! Sarwada kalyanam sushreyo bhavatu: All is perfectly complete!

Prayer for the Long Life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Image

OM SVASTI

To the assembly of most kind teachers, both present and past -
the miraculous dance of the body, speech and mind of
innumerable Buddhas
manifesting in accord with aspirants' spiritual capacities,
the wish-granting jewel, the source of all virtue and goodness -
to you, we offer our prayers with fervent devotion:
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the Land of Snows,
live for a hundred aeons. Shower on him your blessings
so that his aspirations are fulfilled without hindrance.

To the assembly of all meditational deities
manifesting as countless mandalas and divinities -
the magical clouds of immaculate, transcendent wisdom
reaching to the farthest expanse of the space of ultimate reality -
to you, we offer our prayers with fervent devotion:
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the Land of Snows,
live for a hundred aeons. Shower on him your blessings
so that his aspirations are fulfilled without hindrance.

To all the victorious Buddhas of the three times
endowed with ten powers and who are even masters of the gods,
and whose attributes of perfection are the source of all compassionate deeds
benefiting the vast ocean-like realm of sentient beings,
to you, we offer our prayers with fervent devotion:
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the Land of Snows,
live for a hundred aeons. Shower on him your blessings
so that his aspirations are fulfilled without hindrance.

To the assembly of sacred doctrine embodied in the Three Vehicles,
supremely serene, a jewel-treasure of enlightenment,
stainless, unchanging, eternally good, and the glory of all virtues,
which actually liberates beings from the sufferings of the three worlds,
to you, we offer our prayers with fervent devotion:
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the Land of Snows,
live for a hundred aeons. Shower on him your blessings
so that his aspirations are fulfilled without hindrance.

To all members of the enlightening, noble spiritual community,
who never stray from the thoroughly liberating adamantine city,
who possess the wisdom eye that directly sees the profound truth
and the highest valour to destroy all machinations of cyclic existence,
to you, we offer our prayers with fervent devotion:
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the Land of Snows,
live for a hundred aeons. Shower on him your blessings
so that his aspirations are fulfilled without hindrance.

To the assembly of heroes and dakinis, heavenly beings of the three worlds,
who appear in the highest paradises, in the sacred places, and in the cremation grounds,
and who, through creative play in the hundred-fold experiences of bliss and emptiness,
support practitioners in their meditation on the excellent path,
to you, we offer our prayers with fervent devotion:
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the Land of Snows,
live for a hundred aeons. Shower on him your blessings
so that his aspirations are fulfilled without hindrance.

To the ocean of protectors endowed with eyes of transcendent wisdom -
the powerful guardians and upholders of the teaching
who wear inseparably on their matted locks
the knot symbolising their pledge to the ÔVajra Holder' -
to you, we offer our prayers with fervent devotion:
That Tenzin Gyatso, protector of the Land of Snows,
live for a hundred aeons. Shower on him your blessings
so that his aspirations are fulfilled without hindrance.

Thus to this congregation of excellent, undeceiving refuge,
we pray that by the power of this prayer
expressed from a heart filled with fervent devotion and humility,
may the body, speech and mind of the sole of the Land of Snows,
the supreme Ngawang Lobsang Tenzin Gyatso,
be indestructible, unfluctuating and unceasing;
may he live immutable for a hundred aeons,
seated on a diamond throne, transcending decay and destruction.

You are the jewel-heart embodying all compassionate, beneficial deeds;
O most courageous one, you carry upon your shoulders
the burden of all the Buddhas of the infinite realms.
May all your noble aspirations be fulfilled as intended.

By virtue of this may the heavenly doors of the fortunate era open
eternally as a source of relief and respite for all beings;
And may the auspicious signs reach the apex of existence and release,
as the sacred teachings flourish through all times and in all realms.

May the nectar-stream of the blessings of the ÔLotus Holder'
always enter our hearts and nourish it with strength.
May we please you with our offerings of dedicated practice,
And may we reach beyond the shores of perfect, compassionate deeds.

Through the blessings of the wondrous Buddhas and Bodhisattvas,
by the infallible truth of the laws of dependent origination,
and by the purity of our fervent aspirations,
may the aims of my prayer be fulfilled without hindrance.

Dzogchen masters I know say: 1)Buddhist religion essence is Dzogchen 2)Religions are positive by intent/fruit 3)Any method's OK unless: breaking Dzogchen vows, mixed as syncretic (Milanese Soup) 4)Don't join mandalas of opponents of Dalai Lama/Padmasambhava: False Deity inventors by encouraging victims 5)Don't debate Ati with others 6)Don't discuss Ati practices online 7) A master told his old disciple: no one's to discuss his teaching with some others on a former forum nor mention him. Publicity's OK, questions are asked from masters/set teachers in person/email/non-public forums~Best wishes
