The whole of Vajrayana is based upon the fundamental nature of mind – immutable bliss. Everything refers to the offering of bliss. Offering the nangcho is bliss; offering the tsok is bliss; receiving the empowerment is bliss.
I’m not referring to dry passages in books. I’m telling you what they do. Dharma is making a swift transition to the west. Through the development seeing and experiencing visualization, as mostly up to now Himalayan tantric adepts have, through mind, we will begin to see that our experience isn’t isolated by our physical bodies. When bliss is offered to the mind, there arises a physical sensation of bliss in the body. Bliss is offered from the mind of the human Lama to the mind of the human consort. If this wasn't the case, no one would be able to hold ordination.
I think this is the crucial point of Vajrayana.
It is said that you can tell whether someone has just eaten by how red his face is. Similarly, you can tell whether people know and practice the Dharma by whether it works as a remedy for their negative emotions and ego-clinging. --Jetsun Mila
The hungry are not satisfied by hearing about food; what they need is to eat. In the same way, just to know about Dharma is useless; it has to be practiced. --Jetsun Mila
