For me, I couldn't have football anything other than low-scoring. The moment of exhilaration when you realise your team are in a good position to win the game from that goal. It would also lose that ten minutes of chaos when a team are one-goal up and the other team go all-out-attack to get back into the game.

And of course there are certain moments that would not happen if football had more goals. I was an on-off football fan all my life, but when I was eight and on holiday at my uncle's home in Blackpool I saw this game and it was this that made me fall in love with football.

Third place! Not bad considering almost all 200 nations competed!

:woohoo:

Germany now extends its lead as the all-time best nation at football [soccer] in the World Cup. Germany now has '45' points over Brazil in second place with 36. The championship game tomorrow will make no new changes to the top of this list:

Peter the human predicts an outbreak of anthropomorphic superstition.

I think the German team if they keep their present manager, and nothing is certain in this world and even less so in the world of football, will be a formidable force in 2014.

We all want Jogi Löw to STAY! 100 % !

Even though we 'only' made place 3, Germany is very happy with Löw and this young team.

Felt sorry for the guys from Uruguay, 4th place is just so - :weep:

Awful, awful, awful, awful match.

Congratulations to Spain, anyway.
