The Dohas of Tilopa and Saraha

Postby Indrajala » Sun Jan 01, 2012 8:40 am

In Delhi I got to hear this performance live. It was for the first time in public in many centuries these Sanskrit Dohas were performed.

His Holiness 17th Gyalwang Karmapa commissioned Shree Vidvan RS Nanda Kumar to set to verse sacred Dohas ( spiritual songs of realization ) attributed to the great Indina Buddhist saints and yogis Tilopa and Saraha. Two of these were performed during the Karmapa 900 Delhi Celebration.

dohas are in Apabhraṃśa, not sanskrit
Thoroughly tame your own mind.
This is (possibly) the teaching of Buddha.

Send word to the organizers of the event as they said it was in Sanskrit.

well the charitable interpretation is that they know it and just say "sanskrit" to make it simple, however wrong it is.
