Thrangu Rinpoche Hospitalized

Postby Silent Bob » Sun Dec 11, 2011 2:55 am

Thrangu Rinpoche, my noble and tireless teacher, has suffered a stroke and is hospitalized in Hong Kong. Please include him in your prayers.

"Venerable Karma Lodro, who is the glory of the teaching,
May your qualities that glorify the Dharma
Expand to fill the sky and may your life be long and steadfast.
May your activity of teaching and practice be universally victorious
And may the magnificence of this triumph blaze forth."
"All the sublime teachings, so profound--to throw away one and then grab yet another will not bear even a single fruit. Persevere, therefore, in simply one."

May our master soon be strong and healthy and completely recovered very soon!

"The direct, hard to understand, subtle field of knowing, the Great Path, is non-conceptual (akalpana), and entirely beyond the grasp of intellectual thought. Divorced from verbal ideation, it is difficult to point out and as difficult to enquire into. It cannot be communicated through words and [therefore] is not within the scope of the neophyte (adikarmika). Nevertheless the path is to be approached through studying scriptures (sutra) of the World-Teacher and following the personal instructions (upadesa) of one's Guru-ji."

Dear Thrangu Rinpoche,

Your bodhicitta, your concern for the sufferings of others, is precious beyond belief. Your wish to relieve them of their burdens is valued beyond understanding. Your commitment to doing whatever is necessary to bring peace to their
hearts and minds is without parallel.

Please remain with us for as long as possible. Please do not abandon us, your many children, who need your example to know how to be friends. We are wandering lost in endless samsara. Please stay and continue to guide us. We know this body is only a temporary vehicle but without it how will we find our way out of samsara?

Please stay with us for as long as it takes.

Be well. Our prayers and best aspirations are with you as you recover.

This is all I've heard since the initial announcement, from his website <rinpoche.com>:

" Urgent Update re: The Vajra Vidya Seminar 2012, Sarnath, India

I regret to inform all concerned that Thrangu Rinpoche will not be able to teach during the VVI from January 14-23, 2012. He is recovering well now but his doctors have ordered him to have complete rest and quiet for some time. Rinpoche is now in retreat and getting the care that he needs for a complete recovery. Rinpoche wishes the seminar to continue so Tulku Damcho Rinpoche and the Khenpos of the VVI will be teaching on Gampopas "Precious Garland of the Supreme Path". Rinpoche’s translator/scholar David Karma Choephel will hold a daily review of this teaching.

Tulku Damcho will give White Tara Empowerment and teachings on that practice . See Tulku Damcho biography and photo.

Yours in Dharma,
Gloria Jones
