I heard that a bad karma erasing mantra associated with Ksitigarbha (kind of like how om mani padme hom is associated with Avalokiteśvara) is "om ha ha ha vishmaya svaha". Does anyone know anything about this? If so, would you happen to know the translation for this mantra in Sanskrit?

Thank you in advance!

From the Vairocanabhisambodhi Sutra, the Mystic Seals (mudras) chapter, page 109:

Quote:
The mantra is: Namaḥ samantabuddhānāṃ, ha ha ha vismaye svāhā. (Homage to all Buddhas! Ha ha ha! O wondrous one! svāhā!)

This sutra is at the BDK Numata site under Digital Texts - for free.

The Mahavairocana AbhiSambodhi Sutra is a esoteric text. Its not to be used for general chanting.

I presume, you require proper initiation to chant the Mantra.
