Mudras

Post by ananda »

How does a mudra effect the quality of our meditation ?

How would using Gyan Mudra instead of Dhyana mudra meditation change the quality of breathing meditation ?

Does it matter what mudra we use ?

How could this be anything other than the boundless joy of the Law? Strengthen your power of faith more than ever." - Nichiren Daishonin

I guess that really depends on what school you follow. I've heard some say that it focuses your energy (chi/ki) to your dantien and helps your breathing, and therefore your focus. I've also heard that it's not important and to simply sit confortably.

Sometimes, I think it's simply a sign to others that you are meditating and not snoozing
