Am I the only one here who gets the impression that our Buddhist "homies" here are so white they would running screaming in terror if someone with a slight tan asked them for the time?

Do you feel like your use of the internet has affected your ability to practice buddhism?

how would your buddhist practice be different without being on the internet/on this forum?
Definitely. I had access to a lot of research material in North America that I wouldn't have otherwise had access to until I came to Asia.

Pirated pdf scans of expensive books I otherwise couldn't afford (and still can't really) also made study easier.

E-sangha and the many discussions also had a positive effect on my practice. It was the lengthy discussions of vegetarianism that made me finally kick meat.

I've also developed a lot of connections online which became real life relationships. It is nice travelling to places, particularly here in Asia, and being able to meet like-minded Buddhists who are happy to share local knowledge. Without the net I wouldn't have had such opportunities.

:focus: for my input - If I had not read a blog, I would not have investigated HHDL books and I therefore would not have found Buddhism at all....
I also would not have discovered a place to purchase Buddhist books for when unable to get what I want at a library...
I would have no friends or groups to socialize with that were Buddhist...
I would not have access to multiple teachings, support, and friendship....
(oh, and this place too of course!!!! )
