Miraculous 3 suns appears at Gyalwang Drukpa Mahakala Puja

Postby phantom59 » Sat Nov 19, 2011 4:32 pm

Vietnamese devotee with his mobile device 3 suns appearing on top of each other! This happened on the same day as Avalokiteshvara's miraculous appearance, when His Holiness, Kyabje Khamtrul and 108 nuns were performing the Mahakala Puja, Tara & Medicine Buddha grand practice on 17th Nov 2011, the auspicious anniversary of Buddha's descent from heaven (Tu Quang Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)

Without wanting to sound as a spoilsport the effect shown by the footage seems a mixture of lens flare and light illuminating the clouds. Curious, but I didn't find it all that amazing...

although the human brain seems hardwired to see patterns in randomness(pareidolia), I've seen this kind of thing too often to believe its no more than that. Light phenomena in particular can manifest significant shapes in response to what is going on in the minds of those participating. One need look no farther than what happened at Fatima on October 13, 1917:

However, the photo farther down on the facebook page is not an example of pareidolia, its an example of photoshop.
Thoroughly tame your own mind.
This is (possibly) the teaching of Buddha.

Wow it looked like Buddha !
Abandoning Dharma is, in the final analysis, disparaging the Hinayana because of the Mahayana; favoring the Hinayana on account of the Mahayana; playing off sutra against tantra; playing off the four classes of the tantras against each other; favoring one of the Tibetan schools—the Sakya, Gelug, Kagyu, or Nyingma—and disparaging the rest; and so on. In other words, we abandon Dharma any time we favor our own tenets and disparage the rest.

Liberation in the Palm of your hand~Kyabje Pabongkha Rinpoche.
