Dragnet episode

Postby kirtu » Tue Feb 16, 2010 6:44 pm

Curiously there is a Dragnet episode during which a young man is brought in chanting OM MANI PEDME HUNG, identified the mantra as a prayer and talked briefly about Tibetan Buddhism. However the young man was on drugs.

Still it's stunning to encounter something like this.

Ran into some variation of the mantra in an epiode of "Lois and clark: The New Adventures of Superman" once. Strange where it pops up.

There was a recent episode (2009) of CSI: New York prominently featuring the Tibetan Book of the Dead; I'm sure some of you might have seen it.
