ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
Hi, I'm wondering if a fellow DC member could help me out. On May 30, I ordered the Vajra Armour teaching, as well as the short Thun book. They still have not arrived, and I have not received an answer to the last 2 emails I sent them. I'm wondering if someone out there who has the Vajra Armour teaching could scan and email this to me (I imagine it's not too long). I am a DC member, and I have paid for these items! (I can send you my email receipt.) I would really appreciate this, as I would like to read the manual ASAP as I consider doing a retreat. Please PM me. Thanks so so much.
Re: ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
The vajra armour text is actually quite long as it contains the translation of two texts. To recite it there is no visualization you just recite the mantra all day long for minimum 3 days I think. I am not a DC member so I can't help you get your stuff.dakini_boi wrote:Hi, I'm wondering if a fellow DC member could help me out. I would, but I don't like the way you've spelled "boy."
EDIT: I am just kidding. I don't have the text.

Wow.. Where did you order from? I'd send them another email.

I myself have a long list of items which i would like to order but for fear of not receiveing them and looking at the various accounts from people who are still waiting for their items, i've put mine on hold.
I have no ideea what their problem is.Probably they are understaffed .And if they are that means they can't do their job properly and in this way they create lot of consussion for lots of people.
Until they can provide a reasonble standard of service they should reconsider having an online shop.
And no is not ok to wait for 3 months whether you are a saint or not.
It would've made sense if these items are sent from the middle of the amazonian forest or from Angkor Wat .

I personally never had a problem in 5 years.

Vajra armour is a practice which i would like to have a look at, but dont have the text yet.I guess the mantra transmission which rinpoche gave is enough to start practicing.

Re: ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
The text mainly goes over the origins of the mantra, many examples of diseases and conditions it can eradicate and several treatments one can do in conjunction with the mantra recitation. Basically, all you need to do to begin is do a 3 day retreat and do as many recitations as you can all day for those 3 days. You must maintain complete silence except for the mantra and try to pronounce it very correctly and avoid any interruptions during your sessions. There is no visualization and there are no other rules to follow than the above. Just recite it one-pointedly and with faith. That's it. Then, after the 3 day retreat you must recite at least one mala of the mantra per day in order to avoid interrupting the generation of the mantra's function. Good luck.alpha wrote:Vajra armour is a practice which i would like to have a look at, but dont have the text yet.I guess the mantra transmission which rinpoche gave is enough to start practicing.

Hi Pema,
How long do you think the sessions should be?
And in between sessions one keeps silent i understand...
So if one has a condition of some sort that will be healed and purified if the practice is done properly and with faith...??
P.S. Sorry...What about the Guru yoga, refuge ,bodhicitta and dedication?Do they have to be done or one focuses purely on mantra?

Re: ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
As far as I remember there are no sessions. You have to recite continuously. You stop reciting only for eating and sleeping.alpha wrote:Hi Pema,

Re: ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
So Alpha, are you going to do it?
Just curious, what if you have other daily practice commitments? You let go of these for the 3 days of chanting Vajra Armour?

Re: ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
i will definitely do it at some point.
but i see that there are already disagreements about how many sessions daily one should have.
But probably one session is good enough. A 15 hour session that is... .If you can do it that way..

Re: ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
There are no disagreements as far as I can see. PR said "do as many recitations as you can all day for those 3 days". I suppose you could consider breaks between sessions the time you take to eat and sleep.alpha wrote:i will definitely do it at some point.

Re: ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
There is however a Lama Zopa version circulating the net where he says you do 3 or 4 sessions a day(one to one and a half hour long, where you blow on water after each mala).
His version of the practice is more elaborated .I wonder if that is the same practice but done differently or is it a different practice altogether...

Re: ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
This is about Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche's transmission of this practice, not Lama Zopa's. But if you got the transmission from Lama Zopa then you can also do it the way he teaches it. Do it according to the transmission you received. There was already a topic about this practice BTW and there some interesting info about different ways teachers teach this practice.alpha wrote:There is however a Lama Zopa version circulating the net where he says you do 3 or 4 sessions a day(one to one and a half hour long, where you blow on water after each mala).

Re: ChNN's Vajra Armour teaching
My book from DC came today!!! woo hoo!! I have a question though...the part of the mantra that has "Tadyatha", the book says this may be omitted due to the mantra only supposed to have 30 syllables, but is somewhat ambiguous on this point...any suggestions from those who have heard and practiced the teaching directly from ChNNR?
