Postby villkorkarma » Sun Feb 14, 2010 11:02 pm

Hello!
From own experience I ve notice that whatever speak I spoke and how god my talk is i get anxiety, worries, Its like if i done something wrong and I beeing punished for that and my hapiness becomes smaller like when you drink alcohol.
So that fore I wondered What job you guys have? I wonder that many buddhist thinking as Iam thinking and want to reach nirvana fastest and therefore have job there they talk so little as possible..
Do you know a job for me?

Greetings villkorkarma,

I don't think that running away from your worries is the quickest way to attain nibbana... if anything, it will only make you more anxious, and more reliant on circumstances being a particular way in order to make you happy.

But you thank you for your answer.
But it is like this. My great teacher S. N Goenka have you heard about?
He says try to talk så little as possible..
On retreats they have noble silence and it isnt in that tradition they have noble silence on the retreats. Why for no cause? No.
I dont believe you not yet ;)
But I can change maybe.. just maybe.. But im not convinced yet. :)

well I am a teacher, so I do speak a lot in my job. But it doesn't bother me. Just have to know how to always keep right speech.

I am not convinced you have to look for a job where you wouldn't have to talk. Better learn right speech, and you are free from all anxiety pertaining to the act of speaking :)

otherwise you may consider working with deaf people

It is anxiety and the desire for things to be other than they are that is the problem - not conversation.

Where do you get info from? That seems very smart acually.

How are you feel and how old are you?
How near the goal are you?

Greetings villkorkarma,

I feel much better than I did before becoming Buddhist and have learned how to reduce a lot of self-induced stress, previously caused by wishing things to be other than they are (which is itself, a form of craving).

I am also more comfortable in things like public speaking than I was previously because of less of a sense of ego to protect and defend. I'm still as introverted as ever, but no longer shy. A useful teaching in this context is the Buddha's advice on the eight worldly winds/conditions.
