One dictionary gives laziness, distraction and wandering for rnam gyeng. While for phro ba there is only one entry saying: scattering, mental turbulence not originating from attachment.
For your English words it's not really clear to me what the difference is, but I think that maybe one can be present (mindful) while experiencing mental wandering, while when one is distracted there is no presence at all. As for the Tibetan, maybe Namdrol will see the topic and clarify what is meant.

Although many individuals in this age appear to be merely indulging their worldy desires, one does not have the capacity to judge them, so it is best to train in pure vision.
