I think therefore I am.

What I think I am. There is no thing what thinks something.
Remember that a thought is only the fleeting conjunction of myriad factors and circumstances. It does not exist by itself. When a thought arises, recognize its empty nature. Yes, the problem is the 'am.'

The 'am' for Descartes implies that thought is grounded in enduring substance: the formal basis for an independent ego.

So a Buddhist reinterpretation would be simply:

I think, therefore I think.

(thinking happens, but without being grounded in enduring substance). :anjali:
