How about assigning a regular time for a chat, so that people can gather at the same time?
Just a thought . . .
regular chat time?

Re: regular chat time?
While I'm not opposed....but what we be a "coveinent time"?
Would it be whenever it is coveinent for me here in Bangkok? Or maybe the most conveinent time in Tokyo, Perth Austrailia, San Francisco, New York, or maybe London?
Or how about South Africa, Istabul, or Bombay?
No matter where you pick as the location there will be those places around the world where a conveinent time for that place will be in the midddle of the night or during the workday somewhere else, and it won't be "conveinent" for that location.
So while it sounds like a good idea it just really isn't practical. There is always going to be somebody "inconveinenced" by another person's "conveinent" time schedule....there just isn't a common"conveinent" time for everyone everywhere in the world.
Shame on you Shakyamuni for setting the precedent of leaving home.
Did you think it was not there--
in your wife's lovely face
in your baby's laughter?
Did you think you had to go elsewhere (simply) to find it?

Re: regular chat time?
maybe a set day each month would be easier - then people could chat at any time on that specific day knowing there would be more likelihood of others on. As one time zone dropped off another would begin - like a mexican wave...?
