Did Jesus Have A Consort? Was Tantra A Christian Practice?

No holds barred discussion on the Buddhadharma. Argue about rebirth, karma, commentarial interpretations etc. Be nice to each other.

That's a little harsh.

Maybe. But his type is a virus.

They can not accept Christianity and western traditions are bullshit, so they try to find a textual/historical justification for Eastern style practices.

Go on to the gnostic forums. Its sad. And I only know about these gnostic forums because if you google "tummo" in certain combinations it comes up.

Hindu tantra also does NOT equal sex. Sex is actually an auxiliary type practice in only certain extreme Kaula traditions. Sex is not even one of the defining features of tantra. I have several academic books on it right in front of me.

Tantra is about mantra, yantra, chakra, mandala etc. A hindu temple is constructed and operated according to tantra.

I agree tantra is 100% Indian. I am reading a book on it right now by Gavin Flood PhD. And tantra certainly does NOT equal sexual practice. Tenzin1 is a compete moron.

Making a lot of assumptions here about a complete stranger. I've been practicing Buddhism since I was a kid, because I could see as a kid that Christianity was just adult make-believe. I'm interested in the history of Kundalini practices, mystical practices across religions, and "sacred sex" practices in the religions where those are found. If you're not interested in those things, you can pass on this thread. What happened to the politeness this forum is known for? Doesn't the intro to this thread say, "Be nice to each other"? Is that for real? Or are "crazy widsom" practitioners exempt?

you don't realize how offensive you are to people who grew up with an actual Indian background like me.

I'm open minded, but have you posted ONE thing in this thread that isn't complete bullshit?

Point me towards something written by a scholar with a phD.

If you're answer to the OP is "No, Tantra wasn't a Christian practice", you can say so and give your reasons why. If you can't contain your annoyance, perhaps more practice is in order, along with a review of "right speech". :ban:

You should also research the african !Kung tribe, the trances of their healing ceremonies arouse a powerful energy (they call num) up the back that explodes at the head and alters their perception, enabling them to see their ancestors and to transmit healing energy through their own sweat. It always reminded me of cultivated kundalini awakening, though the method of arousing it is through dance and singing.

No actually its upon YOU to explain how something that occurred exclusively in India in the medieval period is a Christian practice.

And you probably still think tantra = sex when it does not

He doesn't practice so don't hold your breath on it.

This thread has degraded into personal attacks and from the beginning I sensed it would spoil quickly.
