And how is right view the forerunner?

In one of right view, right resolve comes into being. In one of right resolve, right speech comes into being. In one of right speech, right action... In one of right action, right livelihood... In one of right livelihood, right effort... In one of right effort, right mindfulness... In one of right mindfulness, right concentration... In one of right concentration, right knowledge... In one of right knowledge, right release comes into being.

That's where I was hoping to lead TMingyur that Pali establishes right view is right view. So what is it then?

Too sober for you, greg, right? No worry if you are looking for sensation. There are quite some alternatives demonstrated here that stimulate fantasy ... great excitement and sensation guaranteed, vibrations ... wow ... adventure ...

Contact, feeling, fabrication, craving ... who wants to bother with that. It's boring right? When there is so much thrilling sensation "out there" ... one just has to contact thoughts and indulge in them ... wow that tingles ...

I let them have their talk but did not bother any further. In this way I could retain the advantages of the conducive teachings without having to subscribe to non-conducive teachings.

Another thing I learned from that is that one should be very cautious when it comes to associating with people.

Looks to me like you have discovered that not every teaching is one that you need or can use. Why not just put it on the back burner? Who knows, these teachings may suddenly seem relevant 20 years from now.
Sergeant Schultz knew everything there was to know.
