Out of body experience/astral projection
What is Namdrol's take on the "New Age" topic of Out of Body experience/astral projection?

I have no clue about this take.
Mine is that whatever new agers might have done with it, it's a "stolen topic" for sure as this phenomena predates the new age movement for many centuries.

Um, no I followed the techniques of Robert Bruce. The top authority of OBE.
I only learned about Western Mysticism just recently, like in the last couple of months.
But I realized that western mysticism is a turd sandwhich.

I know Robert personally. He's a nice fellow. But considering him a top authority in OBE is quite a stretch.

If he is not the top authority, who is?
I've been doing this for 5 years and follow Robert Bruce's instructions to the letter.

Re: Elements
I can start picking things here and there and write good books. There's a public, there's an editor... would that make me an authority?
Listen, the fellow is a very nice chap, but that's all. I really liked him as a person and I think his books are cool.
But new age cool.
If you do the night practice and gain enough awareness, OBE is only a little step further. Being aware and present with your mental body makes the process easy.
If you practice yantra yoga and dream yoga... it becomes easy. Just see that you don't forget the main point of the practice, which isn't OBE for sure.
Edit: 5 years and still nothing? time to change method, no?

Here is the problem with that New Age label you just threw at me.
OBE is NOT accepted by scientific community. So only by DEFAULT, OBE is considered "New Age".

No. I'm not throwing any label at you either. Relax.Enochian wrote:Dechen Norbu wrote: But new age cool.

Buddhism main tenets aren't also accepted by the scientific community and that doesn't make them new age.
New Age is a syncretic rug of bits and pieces of "spirituality", according to the taste of the practitioners.
Let me give you an example:
People who mix Buddhism, Kabala, gardian angels, ascended masters, Reiki, UFO's, OBE, mediumistic seanses, crystals, runes, tarot, groups of these, all of them or different combinations, can safely be called new age.
