In a case of honour killing, a 24-year-old girl was beaten to death on April 12 after her family found out that she had secretly married and converted to Buddhism.
Rupali Bangar, resident of Kinawli village in Shahpur, Thane district, had been in a relationship with Vijay Bhoir (27), the brother of her college friend Sangeeta, for the last three years.
Four persons — her father Balkrishna (45), brother Sachin (25), and sisters Geeta Ranzane (27), and Archana Vishe (20) — have been arrested on charges of murder, destroying evidence and conspiracy.

This is so shameful. Unfortuantly we are seeing our fair share of them here in Britain to.
Abandoning Dharma is, in the final analysis, disparaging the Hinayana because of the Mahayana; favoring the Hinayana on account of the Mahayana; playing off sutra against tantra; playing off the four classes of the tantras against each other; favoring one of the Tibetan schools—the Sakya, Gelug, Kagyu, or Nyingma—and disparaging the rest; and so on. In other words, we abandon Dharma any time we favor our own tenets and disparage the rest.
