Special Appeal from His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche

Post by phantom59 »

To all my dear disciples:

Today I became aware that I had completely run out of the 10,000 refuge cards that my disciples in Taiwan printed for me some four years ago! This means that I had the good fortune of giving refuge ordination to over 10,000 brothers and sisters since.

Now, I appeal to all those to whom I had given refuge ordination, and to all the others who had received teachings from me in the last four years to do something for me. I ask all of you to extend your love towards those who are undergoing tremendous pain, suffering, anguish and fear in the world. I then ask you to please recite green Tara mantra.

OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SVA HA

If you can, I ask each of you to recite the Tara mantra 500,000 times. If this is too much, will each of you please say at least 300,000 times?

I thank you very much, and I shall always keep you all in my humble prayers.

Sincere thanks for making us aware of this.
I did have the good fortune to receive teaching from Gar Rinpoche and will happily comply with these requests.

Best wishes,
Drolma

half a million is quite a stack. Would it make any sense for me to help you with this task?

I think so. Any virtue and kindness dedicated to others is worth it, whether 1 recitation or 1 million, with openness, love, and compassion. If you're not a student of Rinpoche's, there's no obligation to do any particular amount. It's all about what you'd like to do to contribute.
