The Fitness Thread!! Yay!

Post by gnegirl »

Anyone else a gym-rat? Addicted to running? Weight lifting? Maybe Prostrations as exercise???

I'm a runner who likes to crosstrain with weights and yoga. Got a 1/2 marathon in my sites later this year.

I was doing my 35 prostrations daily for a while there. I need to get back to it. Feel like inspiring me?

From the girl who'd rather run 5 miles than do her ngondro prostrations?

I walk a lot. Does that count? I walked about five miles yesterday.

My main exercise at the moment are Ngondro prostrations. But I also love the outdoors - hiking, running, cycling... No running or cycling at the moment though since it's rainy season here in Namibia and we have heavy rain almost every day, especially late afternoon/early evening which would be my only chance to go... and on my favourite route I'd now have to cross three rivers, sometimes up to over my knees in the water...

Sounds like quite a workout, but no trees! I prefer hills and mountains.

I do a daily Yoga session - Sivananda or Tibetan Heart Yoga. I used to walk a lot and do a much longer Yoga session, but now I am 'tied to the house' looking after my father, I do not have very much time. As I don't drive and will soon be getting a wheelchair for Dad, I probably walk more than most people, though!!
I also do a lot of gardening and chores and have a 'health-freak' style 99% vegan diet which keep me fairly fit providing I get enough sleep/rest as well.
