I would be grateful if people would pray for my father. He is in his 70's and has suddenly come down with a potentially severe although as yet undiagnosed illness (this happened this month and I just became aware of it yesterday).

Actually my father has a potentially serious issue with his liver and will know more in the middle of the month.
I am unable to sponsor Garuda practice through monlam.org because for some unknown reason Paypal rejects my card. Does anyone know a site that offers these kinds of prayers that are not dependent upon paypal processing?

They don't have a Garuda practice, but they have other long life and health rituals:

I hope the medical results are better than feared and wish your father a complete recovery.
For your prayers you could try Gongkar Choede Monastery, they use a PayPal alternative.
