Not sure what to make of this couple...
On a sidenote, apparently Batman is a togal practitioner too: http://thelostyak.com/2010/02/25/the-co ... oes-togal/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

as a side note, being captivated by the visions is a glitch no?
I think an answer to inner self question, is in that observation alone.
Re: Completion of the path of Tögal
exactly, they appear to be practicing , but at what achievement hard to know, so better to gently place flower at their feet and be respectful.Pema Rigdzin wrote:Not sure what to make of this couple...

Not so wise to be selling books based on their visions.
And who is their Guru?

Absolutely inane to discuss something like that in public if you are not a teacher.
It has been the misfortune (not, as these gentlemen think it, the glory) of this age that everything is to be discussed. Edmund Burke, Reflections on the Revolution in France.
Re: Completion of the path of Tögal
while togal is nothing without trekchod, so the fact that they didn't mention that gives suspicion to their claims.

what have they claimed?
Re: Completion of the path of Tögal
They share the unique perspective that their completion of the path of Tögal brings to encourage recognition that this Earth, this vision we call life, is a sacred offering.Heruka wrote:tamdrin wrote:while togal is nothing without trekchod, so the fact that they didn't mention that gives suspicion to their claims.
what have they claimed?
And...they have books for sales on the visions they had in meditation!

All of those things, painting, poetry, artistic expression and even dharma talk are manifestations of the ground, path and fruit. it either stands up or it falls down, in reality it means not that much.
Wheres the problem?
Wheres the problem?

The problem is they are openly talking about the visions they had while in meditation, and worse they are selling it for a profit.Heruka wrote:All of those things, painting, poetry, artistic expression and even dharma talk are manifestations of the ground, path and fruit. it either stands up or it falls down, in reality it means not that much.

well, first we have a gentleman named alara kalama who took siddharta as a student and taught the dhamma of samkhya, which gotama ultimately found unsatisfactory. we can also say that gotama probably learned yogic practices of patanjali, which were wide spread in the ganges at that time.

Re: Completion of the path of Tögal
Heruka, I was aware of his non-dharma related teachers, and I'm sure they helped him on his path. What exactly is your point here?Heruka wrote: well, first we have a gentleman named alara kalama who taught the dhamma of samkhya, which gotama ultimately found unsatisfactory. we can also say that gotama probably learned yogic practices of patanjali, which were wide spread in the ganges at that time.

the point is exposure to such, never effected his enlightenment, but really sped it on.
